Good day!

I've purchased Switronix V-type RED Battery Mount Plate w. Lemo Connector to use with
Globalmediapro Li190S-R Lithium ion Battery 190WH for Red Camera (RR type).

Both these products state that they can send battery info to RED ONE camera, but when I use them, I see only "DC" and no battery info.

Shall I use small battery slot in the Switronix Battery Mount Plate to get the information? What type of small battery fits in the slot?

Or is there other way to solve this?

(Switronix said that they cannot speak for other manufacturers used on their plate, waiting for the response from GM now)

Thank you!

I didn't know about the P-tap power port, so it is not a battery mount.

GM replied to me to use original RED V-mount plate.

So the combination of GM battery and Switronix plate is not passing battery info to camera, though separately they surely do.

It seems strange that this procedure is so different for just one Lemo connector))

Any ideas to solve this?

FYI - I use GMP and they work great with the RED v-mount plate.

I think you're SOL with that combo.

I have the same issue, GM battery and battery plate from Wooden Camerea. There is no battery info on the RED ONE.

The magnets inside the globalmediapro batteries (that activate the battery info passing)are not centered. The tolerances aren't good enough.

What I did was open the V Mount plate, take out the magnet there, and replace it with 4 ceramic magnets end to end where the original magnet was.

It now works perfectly. Passes battery data and all. Possibly the Red plate has bigger magnets inside it or else strong magnets like rare earth.

Can't say what that does to warranties on the battery plate, but it worked for me. Just a thought.

I have 4 Globalmedia batteries. 2 pass % info to Epic/Scarlet-X, but 2 don't. I have the Switronix V-mount. I also have 4 Switronix batteries and all pass %. It's the Globalmedia Pro batteries.

I might need to contact GMP to get the replacements then

Sorry I kept silence - busy days!

Thank you all for the answers, it is a great help to me.
Personally, I was sure that all the combinations must be working, but it was a mistake.

I tried to save some money on this combo (and I did) and now I'll try to replace magnets,
as Devin Block advices to get GM batts to work.
Is there any information where GM magnet sits in its' body?

Jack Smith, FYI - GM will not replace batteries, because they guarantee their work only on original RED V-mount adapters.

They are all in different places in each battery. I think gmp tries to glue them in with a low quality glue and it shifts during transit. This is just my best educated guess.

Either way putting multiple magnets horizontally where the one magnet sat inside the plate worked for me.

Hm, after dancing with magnets still no result.

Later I'll try stronger magnets, but for now I'm happy that they have this indication on batteries. Small help but far better than nothing.

If you are still having trouble with it, feel free to contact me about sending it in to our facility to be inspected/diagnostics. my email is jason@CinemaOxide.com
