So I tried about everything I know to get aaf to relink to r3d files and still it reads the transcoded files even after forcing to point to Red folders. So I tried an EDL export. Imported into Red Cine X flawlessly. Imported into Resolve and got timeline as it should be with clips pointing to the r3d files but along with a few extra clips spread out amongst the sequence. 7 clips in all are not my edits but alternate footage. I had to force conform these to the original but cant' understand why they were wrong to begin with. Finally Im closer than ever to getting it imported correctly after days of trying unsuccessfully to import via aaf.

Is it a multicam edit by chance?

On thing that I find helps is to populate the media pool using the EDL before conforming with the AAF.
