I may be missing a VERY important step or procedure (which I have been known for), but for using the Element control panel on Resolve V9, 100% of the times I need to go through the full drill:
  1. open Resolve
  2. modify the panels selection to "None"
  3. close Resolve
  4. re-open Resolve
  5. modify the panes selection to "Element"
I mean, 100% of the times. Please, tell me what I am missing since this CANNOT be the way of operating this panel(s). :banghead: With the aggravating that now you need to "Login" as an user to access the preferences to perform this procedure, IT IS NOT FUN...:cryin:...!!!

I have been advised by BMD that for Mac, "Command" + " , " will open the preferences without being logged-in. With beta 3 available, now this is working for me. It does not resolve the issue of having the need to re-do the procedure every time I need to use Resolve, even after uninstalling and re-installing the latest version of the Tangent's Hub software.

Half way taken care of, but still dealing with the issue...

Hmmmmm....that's a strange issue Luis. I have the Element running fine without needing to tell Resolve to reload it everytime i start up the program. Although, when switching from Scratch to Resolve I need to turn off the elemnet in Resolve otherwise there is a conflict between the two programs.

Strange, indeed... The only other program that can use the panel is RC-X, and I imagine that most of the people has it installed on their computers, and do not experience this situation. At least I do not need to log-in any more since I got the advise from BMD to use the Command + , shortcut... Still investigating.

Paul,

No, I never do. But, will verify the steps needed to do it and to assure database integrity. That is the last thing I need...

Thanks for the suggestion!!!!

Back up your database. I've never had a database problem with upgrades, but maybe just lucky. I don't know if uninstall is required or recommended, but I just always do it for some reason. Probably left over behaviour from old decklink days many years ago.

Could be a permissions problem, too. Are you certain that all your installation paths and config files have correct permissions set by the OS? This is usually not a problem on Macs, but I've seen it happen... if you're on Windows it's even rarer, but again I've seen it happen.

Just to report, that since beta 3 of V9, I have not experienced the issue any more. I hope this is the end of it...!
