  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Getting a Slider

I have a Red edition Indieslider Pro that I added a custom built mitchell receiver too.
It works quite well but does need some practice. The Kesler pocket dolly is interesting I tried it at Cinegear but it's not practical to operate the crank and head at the same time.

I was most impressed with the slider from 8ball camera support. Same price as the Modern but built like the silent cat. That's what I'm saving my pennies for.

Evin... what do you think of the IndieSlider? I am in need of a camera slider for this upcoming feature and I'm almost thinking about just buying one and renting it to production... but sub-$1000 is my price range right now

Can 8Ball adjust in size?

I saw the Cineped at Cinegear but was a little put off by their marketing team and the build quality. Parts already looked worn and a lot of cheap plastics. I'd love to hear some reviews from the field because I think it has a lot of potential. I'd like to see a mitchell option so that you could use your own slider on top of it. Anyone know price range?

Anyone tried this slider/mini-dolly? Link
Looks interesting. For low shots you can mount the ends on apple-boxes or the ground and for higher shots, one c-stands with cardellini or other mounting device on both ends. The price is right too!

Not cheap, but the best. The Original. Jerry will treat you well...

If you are looking for this on the East Coast, TCS would be happy to help you.
Slider will come in Mini (2'), 3, 4, 6, 8 foot sizes. The Mini Slider just got an upgrade too.

I can tell you they are the smoothest ride we have seen and we also here for rent.

If jonnycom doesn't want your indislider pro, I would be interested in buying it from you.

I have the indie slider and it is crap - it cannot support the RED properly. It sticks as you move it along and then your tripod tips as it reaches the ends. I do not recommend this product.

Our Pegasus LTS has been used by many RED owners...but we've come up with something pretty special, "Atlas" based on request from the RED shooters wanting to shoot on 5ft rails.

You'll see sneak peaks of it next week, but basically it's our Pegasus system on serious steroids. We've upped the weight capacity to the 100lb mark using 1" rails (instead of 5/8") and added 100mm/150mm bowl support. It will be sold with 3, 4 and 5 foot rails.

Looking at the Original Slider, has anyone used their motorized kit? Also, how is the dampening on those? Is it adjustable? I like the Griptech, but dealing from Australia is not really an option. Last I spoke with them they only had 4 or 5 units here...

Any one using Glidetrack with Red one or heavy camera It looks good but Im just wondering if the bearing arrangement is a smooth as a true ball type bearing unit. Is the start up inertia as light as a ball bearing system.

8-ball slider. NO better slider for the money.
The adjustable tension is fantastic. Made like silent cat
for substantially less. We recently purchased 5' and are
getting fantastic customer response.
