I just tried the crimsonworkflow tool. It´s Perfekt !!

Cut your Proxies in Final Cut.

Export an XML.

Convert the XML with crimsonworkflow.

Import all the R3D Files you used in your Final Cut Sequenz in Redcine ( Load ALL ).

Then load your converted XML File in Redcine.

Ready!

You have your cut in Redcine and you are online.

Thanks for this nice application. Bought it already !!!!

There´s a tryout under:

I'll jump into it tonight.
iBloom, you recomend us to make prores proxies with Compressor first, right?

...and after importing your timeline into redcine...

I suppose the next step would be to export 2K or 4K dpx sequences and finish them (CC and effects/transitions) in After Effects or any superior alternative? Am I right?

Just checking out if I got it.

frame offset

frame offset

Hi, we are trying crimson, but found problem:

every edit makes the REDCINE timeline 1 frame longer than the original timeline in fcp, so after 7 edits the timeline n redcine is 7 frames 0ff. We tried the same with redline outputting directy from crimson, but it is the same problem.

Thanks for support,
antoine&Patrick Lindenmaier.

we found out that it is not a bug, but it is normal?!?

The extra frame is necessary for roundtripping in the current build of Crimson. It does not hurt other conform pipelines since they work off an EDL, so you essentially have an extra frame handle on the end of each clip.

If you can explain to me why this is actually a problem I'll build an option to remove it. Otherwise it's better to leave it, to prevent confusion.

I'm looking into other ways of doing it, but for now...

extra frame in redcine timeline

extra frame in redcine timeline

We want to produce a sequence of dpx files(of the hole movie) out of redcine to import in a color correction system. The extra frame have to be removed manually because the redcine timeline not matching the fcp timeline.

Your color correction program, will still need to conform, in which case you will need to export an EDL from FCP and use that to conform your footage to your cut from the DPX headers.

A complete sequence from REDcine will only work if their were no transitions in the entire movie.

In any case, I'll add this into the build.
