hey

does rocket x work with gemini?

are the OLPFs in gemini specific to that sensor or stock epic w OLPFs?

is the red dot internal reflection issue identical in gemini as it is in dragon weapons and helium weapons? if it differs, how does it differ? i saw it crop up a lot in a standard OLPF shot online and wasn't sure if this means its more of an issue on gemini

regarding OLPF usage on gemini, does skin tone highlights not have the red dot issue? if so, how much does using this highlight centric OLPF reduce the low light abilities of gemini?

how does switching OLPFs affect gemini exposure wise in general?

is high speed superior in general on gemini because of the low noise and lack of crop factor issue?

any idea how soon gemini will be part of the red third party trade in program? i really, really want one...

Red dots.... have shot literally 1000s of hours on helium and only saw it once in the most perfect. Settings the other day. Totally my fault, I wouldn’t worry about that, if your getting those dots your exposing totally wrong like I was and loosing tons of dr

Haven’t switched filters yet but I doubt it is any different than current 8kh. The sensor feels the same in standard. Low noise I can’t speak of yet.

To the point of OLPFs. Remember that DSMC2 bodies have the low pass/birefringent material in the sensor cover glass now. So the actual "OLPF" is a color filter with various coatings, IR blocking/cutting, and other features. So basically if you have a similar-ish sized DSMC2 OLPF, meaning format size like S35, and you should be good.

The sensors themselves are profiled and calibrated to each OLPF's unique color properties. Gemini's actual Dual ISO Sensitivity isn't adversy effected by this between the two modes.

Generally speaking the Skin Tone - Highlight filter is the most aggressive in terms of blocking light. With Dragon my general mode of operation was rate the STH about 1-1.3 stops lower on the ISO. However with many of the newer sensors they are tuned differently towards the working color temperatures straight away and are a bit more forgiving.

The light loss difference between the Standard OLPF and Low Light is pretty minimal btw. I haven't used the LLO I some time, but it is useful if you are digging into the darkest corners.

And the OLPFs are the same models used for both the EPIC-W GEMINI and EPIC-W HELIUM.
