GEARNEX UPDATE
GEARNEX UPDATE
Hi Paul & other interested parties,
Sorry for the delay in getting more updated information to you online. As some of you may already know, one of the reasons for the delay in getting the GearNex shipped was due to a small backlash issue in the tilt. Most users would not have even noticed it but Bret and I did not want to send out a product we felt wasn't good enough.
After $20,000 - $25,000 dollars and many weeks of research and development which included making new rollers, rocker arms, roller materials, transmissions, gear ratios, etc., we found the problem. The problem was the sets of worm gears and worms we where told to use did not properly match up. Not one person had noticed including our engineers, the gear representative, the distributor, the manufacturer and us. But after we replaced the worm, everything worked great.
Although we started production of most of the parts almost a month ago, we felt after testing we had to get this problem solved before continuing on mass production of the tilt assembly. When we found the gear pairing problem, we knew the problem was finally solved.
We are hoping to ship the improved GearNex unit in about 3 weeks and we appreciate everyone's patience. Please keep in mind, as we have been told by a lot of buyers, just get it right and that is what we are doing.
