If you see this and you are using the GDU Touch n Go on DSMC2 with a good 15mm and/or 19mm rod solution can you please post pics or ideas?

Thanks!!

A proper baseplate system with rods will have the center of the lens at proper standard height. Wooden camera, shape, bright tangerine all sell base plates with rod systems that you can then attach a touch and go plate too.

Extremely self promotional, but since I use it for exactly this, might be something useful.

Myself and Duclos Lenses make something called a rodClaw for DSMC2, which provides a single 15mm or 19mm rod that physically attaches to the camera brain itself. Similar to the old school film cameras that have rod holes in them, this can always live on the camera brain:

You can indeed use this for single rod mechanical units or electronic motors.

It's a bit early to announce it, but we're running a combo deal at Duclos Lenses shortly with the Bright Tangerine new Titanium Drum Stix rods, which I think are the best rods you can get at the moment if strength and weight are your focus.

Give them a call and tell them I sent ya.

I currently use the Red quick release system, bolt on and dovetail, but that won't work well with touch and go. But this conversation reminded me that I have a Small Rig DSMC2 baseplate with 15mm attachment in a box somewhere in the office. I bet that does the trick. Thanks, man.

I've been interested in the Rod Claw for a while now but haven't pulled the trigger. I haver a cheese plate attached to the operator side of my DSMC2 Helium that uses what looks like the same screw holes the rod claw uses - its my only hangup. Thanks for the Bright Tangerine tip, I'll check that out. BTW, your creative LUTS are amazing and I use your tools all the time. Thanks for all you do with the community.
