  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Not just back on track, they are finally shipping :)
If I were BT I would suggest sending a note to all on the initial list since they might not know this is happening.

So is this group buy open or closed? Confused. Might be interested in the atom, what's price and discount?

Glad to relate the following:

Thank you'll, for your enthusiastic responses to the culmination of this Group Buy (GB).

Due to the number of requests from Participants on the Interest GB thread, for an extension of the window to complete purchases, under this GB, BRIGHT TANGERINE has agreed to grant all participants a final extension of the Group Bu for Revlovr, as noted above, until 10 July, 2016!

This Group Buy is CLOSED. Only those participants on the GB Interest thread herein, who have posted interest in the GB and not rescinded their interest may participate in the actual GB.

I shall post a NEW GB thread later today, for this Revolvr GB, albeit a Closed GB, as described above. This Interest thread will then be closed, but available on RU for reference.

In approximately one month, BT will announce the particulars of "ATOM," which is NOT part of this GB. There will be another GB for ATOM, following that announcement.

I apologize for being so thick, but nowhere have I seen actual instructions about how to execute our GB. Maybe the aforementioned GB thread will have those instructions?

I’m pleased to inform you that since my last update on REDUser, release for the Revolvr Follow Focus units are now imminent.

We currently have a few field test units "out in the wild”. These were allocated deliberately as a final step in the QC process to ensure the integrity and quality we’ve promised. This was a random selection process with no particular preference for an end user or reseller. We felt this was necessary to ascertain impartial feedback on any mechanical or physical attributes that may have surfaced.

As a result, testing is now complete on the Revolvr and we've received nothing but positive feedback & data.
We would sincerely like to thank all our customers & everyone on REDuser for their patience. This has been the most challenging project to date - but with the feedback from this community, you’ve helped create a truly great follow focus. Built with incredible precision & accuracy, the Revolvr also solves follow focus placement especially with short lenses.

We have also ordered a large amount of raw materials to make this happen. These new parts consist of titanium, are extremely expensive, but necessary to maintain high tolerances and optimal performance. As a result, we will be raising the list price substantially after the initial run.
The good news though is that it doesn’t affect you immediately. We will honour pre-orders and the initial advertised price until the first batch is completely sold out.

As a way of saying thank you for your ongoing support, we are offering a discount on this group buy only to REDUser forum members who have already expressed interest on the thread.

Discount pricing will based on a tier system, with 10% off for the first 10, with an increase to 20% if numbers exceed 20 plus. So basically, the more people in line, the better the discount.

That said, the "announcement" from BT commits the mortal sin of "burying the lede". The structure of the message (which has not title itself) is:

P2: We are happy
P3: We are testing
P4: We received great feedback
P5: We have spent money on our supply chain
P6: We express our thanks via a discount
P7: Discounting is two-tiered
P8: HOWTOBUY
P9: Thanks!

My apologies for not seeing clearly the important information hiding in paragraph 8. For a thread that's more than two years old, with many dashed expectations that THIS TIME we'd learn something substantial, you might understand why, after reading through the first 5-6 paragraphs, I might have thought this was another "we're still working on it...stay tuned".
