Are weight differences for the various options going to be posted?

Hi Nick

I`m missing the discount. Has the discount been detailed yet? The prices on the first post are list prices, correct?

Hi Donald,

The formal GB discount tiers have not been posted, formally. Because of the requisite delays in finishing the pieces to BT standards, that we have all come to expect, it is a bit early. Having said that, the GB discount will be on top of the surprisingly low Full Retail numbers. Just plan on a discount, which is a handsome bonus. There are whisper numbers out there, for sure.

Thank you very much

Fury

Any thoughts on how this compares to the cinegears WFF?
It isn't really fair to compare a wireless product to a 'manual ' product. The Revolvers and the Cine Gears are two different animals. One is completely tactile and manual (meaning it is mounted on the Camera in a manner that necessitates physical/tactile manipulation with a solid, single connection. The other is a device that is essentially divided into three parts (motor, motor driver box hand controller). It's wirelessly controlled. There is a tactile feedback, But it is different, add it's on a hand Controller, and not on the physical camera. In that you don't feel the lens physically move.

Both are wonderful products that fulfill vastly different needs.

Incredible news! Bright Tangerines is so customer responsive, that they have decided to include a reverse gear with the Revolver Atom units! It will be an available 'option' for Revolver! There you have it! We, the customers/users ask for a feature, and BT delivers!

So Fury or Curt,

I think someone has already asked the question a couple pages back, and I then I think someone answered, but I'm looking for a more detailed response for what the differences are between the Atom and Studio version- other than size of handwheel. I need to decide before the group buy website goes live, and from what I can see, the Atom hand wheel is only $10 cheaper when purchased a la cart...so what are the other components that make up the $1k price difference (roughly) between the Atom kit and the entry Studio kit...I must be missing something...because the functionality is supposed to be the same between the two.

My other question is why would someone want a larger handwheel...is it all preference?

What Andy and team at Bright Tangerine have done with their Matte Box series has been just amazing and reason why I sold all my Arri MB20's and MB20 II's and moved to their Strummer and more recently on to the Viv for DragonM8...

What they have done with the FF system is simply put incredibly insane!!

There is simply NO WAY I would keep any Arri nor O'Connor nor any other FF system... The Revolvr is absolutely the "IT" answer in the market, no matter if going smaller lighter with te Atom or the larger bit heavier Studio version, DragonM8 will sport an other BT accessory and it's called Revolvr... :)

Rome, Bright Tangerine are breaking new ground in the accessory world. For the first time, a manufacturer is offering their products, of a similar nature, in a multi-tiered platform. Yes, the hand wheels that come with Atom are a bit smaller. The set up in Atom is a bit lighter too. As of a few days ago, Atom will have a 'reverse' gear standard too. The Atom has a different 'gear box' that is more suited for still lenses too. All this being said, if you like larger hand wheels, you want a different gear box ratio, or many other aspects, you can get these things as accessories to the Atom. Essentially, if you purchase an Atom for your needs today, and decide you'd like to 'upgrade', or change your mind to different uses, it's possible through accessories. Bright Tangerine truly have the end user in mind when designing their products. That's how they have converted me, Ketch, Fury, Haslett and so many more to their products. Once you use them, you're hooked.

Curt,

Thanks for your response! But, I don't think you got my question- and I know I probably wasn't clear. Also, I know the sales pitch on Bright Tangerine lol! I remember watching your video on the VIV and I ended up ordering one. I love my VIV and wouldn't trade it for anything- these guys do make a good product!...so I know the FF will be awesome!

My question is more about the differences between the Atom and Studio FF, other than the size of the handwheel. I ask because after looking on their website, the difference in price from the Studio handwheel and the smaller Atom handwheel, is only $10. But, the price of the sets are +$700 difference between the cine version of the Atom and the entry Studio FF kit. If the only difference is the size of the handwheels, and that's only a $10 difference, then what's the other $690? The gears are the same right? I know I'm missing something, just trying to figure out what. And I understand the difference in gear box ratios (or at least I think I do)...but that's only a $10 difference according to BT...

And please understand- this is just a question I have! In no way am I trying to cause confusion or mess up the group buy...I'm REALLY excited to be apart of this, and REALLY appreciate Furys work with getting us this (soon to be announced) great deal! I just wanted some clarity on the differences between the two options for FF packages we have, and why the price differences of the sets if the handwheels only have a $10 difference (Atom is like $539 and the Studio one is $549) when purchased separately...

As always, thanks for your help!

It would be nice to see a rundown of the differences between the Revolvr and the Atom. From what I can tell, the main difference of the Revolvr is that it can be operated from both sides?

There isn't much info on the atom at the moment. I'm sure as soon as anyone has comparison info it will be posted here.

Da Facts

Da Facts

To clear up any confusion:

  • Revolvr is a double-sided unit, and Revolvr Atom is a single-sided unit.
  • Both swing arms ("cine" and "1:1") fit both products (Revolvr and Revolvr Atom). To figure out what would suit you best, check out: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showth...E-FOLLOW-FOCUS-INTEREST&p=1415493#post1415493
  • Neither product will work without a swing arm. Gotta have at least one.
  • Both "large" and "small" handwheels fit both products. Why large and small? Because some people like one and some like the other. The large wheel has around 72mm diameter at the big end, the small wheel around 57mm.
  • Revolvr Atom cannot be converted into Revolvr, and Revolvr can't be converted into Revolvr Atom.
  • Revolvr Atom has integrated reverse "Nikon" direction (flip the gearbox upside-down, no extra parts required), while Revolvr needs an additional reversing gear to reverse direction. This among other things is why a double-sided unit isn't necessarily "better" than a single-sided one. It all depends on what you're doing.
  • Revolvr Atom has an additional slide on the bridge to allow the transmission box to be tweaked fore-and-aft.
  • Revolvr and Revolvr Atom use different bridges. With Revolvr, all bridges are snap-on. With Revolvr Atom, the LWS Bridge is snap-on, the studio adapter bridges are not.

If you have any other questions, you can contact Rob (rob -at- brighttangerine.com) or Carthik (carthik -at- brighttangerine.com)

(Bright Tangerine has indeed already contacted Reduser regarding sponsorship)

Cheers

Jim
