This topic probably has already come up, but I did not find it anywhere.
I would like to start a thread that would allow owners to post their wishes in future builds of the RED 1.
First Suggestions:
1. I use the RED on Jib arms, and use a photo cell pickup on the tally indicator to see that the camera is rolling. Because the Tally light is always on and only changes color when it is rolling, these pickups can't be used. There should be a way to turn off the Tally and only have it glow Red when the camera is rolling.
2. I would love to have a remotely controlled way to change the frame rate on the fly, like you can do on a film camera. This would be a wired controller with a frame rate read out on it. It would have a knob on it that you could rotate to increase or decrease frame rate while the Red was recording.
What do you think Jim? These two requests couldn't be too difficult to incorporate. After all look what you guys created in such a short amount of time.
Thanks,
Shane
