  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Fs - Set of LOMO Anamorphic roundfront F = 35,50,75,100 - NEW , PL mout , ARRI gear

Have made contact with EMS office Russia. They have no knowledge of a parcel with the tracking number that Sergey gave me.
 
Rob i think you only have 1 option get a russian solicitor in the uk and let the solicitor deal with it and forget about it.You will get your money back and i would also tell the bank manager about the problem.A very good friend of mine works in a bank but would it even help if there is a way of getting an address.

I already did it before. Olex said to me there's more than a month he's not in touch with Sergey. He has joined us to try to reach him. Olex told me Sergey can be in summer pause these days.

2. He stalled me on the shipping, giving excuse after excuse as to why this could not be done, including the idea that the whole of Russia was not working from 1st - 9th may. I went with it, trusting him.

4. The stalling kept going. " sorry i've been away" lenses disassembled for painting of index marks". Work i thought had already been done.

5. I asked sergey if i could arrange my own shipping, i didnt want to use russian post. No reply. Then email telling me the lenses have shipped on 22nd May. Strange i thought, i don't remember Sergey asking me for my address, maybe i gave it to him in a past email. I scoured my emails, he doesnt have my address. I mail him again, 23rd he sends me a tracking number that is not valid. Sergey then Disappears. No contact since then to many many emails sent to him.

6. I did some research, found out some very interesting facts, one being that according to his ID with the TAX department number sergey lost the right to be a trader or individual entrepreneur.

7. I also know there are a few others either in dispute with sergey or have money with him at the moment. The lenses have disappeared, no one knows where they are.

8. Friends and colleagues in Russia, have not heard from him, neither do they know his whereabouts.

9. He does not respond to phone calls.

This has been a massive hit to me. It's no small amount of money. It has the potential to put me out of business, as i had quite a few jobs lined up for these lenses, it's why i was happy to pay way over the odds for them. 2 of those jobs have now gone and the third looks like it will not work out either as i will have to let the company know what has happened. It was a big job and would more than pay for half the cost of the lenses.

I'm not a big player, I'm a very small fish compared to most. I pooled a lot of resources to pay for these lenses. Not only have those resources now gone out of my business, so has my money paid to sergey and the revenue created by the purchase of the lenses. Now i will have to sell more of my assets to try and cover this loss.

I hope one day i get to see sergey face to face, maybe he could explain to my 4 kids why he is doing this. The stress and worry far out weighs the money, now my main goal is to keep my business afloat and keep a roof over our heads.

I know there are some of you out there who will say, don't worry, he will surface he is an honest man. But i don't see any honesty in what has happened here, i have been lied to on more than one occasion during this process, i can't see any good reason not to reply to an email, he know he has my money, he knows he hasn't sent the lenses, he must know how i will be feeling. That tells me a lot about him. I would love for you all to be right, but it's not what i see happening at the moment.

I fully understand your sadness but be confident and strong :-) I guess Sergey will come up when people are not expecting for anymore. From my experience with him, that's the way our communication has been based on.

In summer rest?....how nice for him, resting up, on my money. While I'm here trying to put out fires caused by his lack of concern.

Unfortunately, I know nothing, Bob. I only know what others and my own experience can add on topic.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if he would come up, addressing he's simply not aware of it because he has been in vacations and thought the lenses would already be with you, following up the shipping information you received from him.

I think as grown-up people we all just know what matters now... is to guarantee the money placed with him is not lost, minimizing other eventual losses with the whole hassle.

Let's hope for a happy end as best as possible. Fingers crossed.

I've got everything crossed.....I'm not having a go at you,i really appreciate you chipping in. Thank you Emanuel. let's hope it works out for the best....for everyone.
 
I was thinking a similar situation since Sergey haven't logged into Red User since April 22nd. Hope everything work out well for everyone.

I see now Sergey's account on reduser is banned. Hope Jarred/Jim may have this in consideration and may re-consider. As I posted before and will repeat: Sergey is a legit supplier. He's just different, if compared to everyone of us. He doesn't use internet as much as anyone of us, I guess. If you want a term of comparison, it is more or less like the best quality glass of his inventory. You won't find it next to your door. Give him a chance :-)

Call me old-fashioned, but if the accusations here are even half-true I wouldn't call him a 'legit supplier' or 'just different'; that's plain risible and banning is too good for the bugger IMHO.

(I know none of the parties and have no axe to grind but I couldn't let that go past without opening my big mouth)

I think he should be allowed back on here. Buyer be aware - he may be able to provide you some gold, but there could be some Pyrite in there as well.

I love the guy though personally.

Just sayin' Prospectors...
 
Following this thread, this transaction is clearly not "business as usual" in any classic sense.
It's SOMETHING, but it sure aint business.

Who knows/deals/is in touch with the russian world (and Sergey K. is far to be the only party in Eastern Europe I've had experience with), knows that's a planet of another kind. It is not pointing out our world to them the way we'll save the grace. They simply have other habits. Only as an example, yesterday night someone told me they would cross Siberia (5,000kms not by air but in two continents from Asia to Europe and twice, I mean, both ways!) only to be able to see their relatives for a few days.

Life is plain different there : ) The only way is plain communication and (mutual) understanding.

I have some other opinion ABOUT RUSSIAN WAY OF LIVING OR TRADING OR SOME OTHER WAY THAT EXPRESS OUR LIVE , WE DO NOT HAVE THE SAME ATTITUDE WITH ... you know
CUT THIS CRAP ABOUT MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING, WE CLEARLY UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED HERE. AND HAVE NO EXCUSES FOR SUCH BEHAVIOR, AND FOR ALL THAT LIES YOU HAVE EATEN
