I thought all stages were closed....or with stage 3 maybe u don't have to sign anything and just buy the camera by a certain date???? And original owner then has to take stage 3 delivery and do payment etc.....

[Doug Beatty]

I'm pretty sure the stages are closed and transfer of ownership would have had to have happened months ago for you to be eligible for the upgrade.

"Cameras only eligible if invoiced by RED or having completed the official RED ownership transfer process on or before October 29, 2009." - Jarred Land.

You're right Johnny. To be more precise, the sale is a lease-to-own contract... Its work well, since i've bought a camera that was under a contract of lease-to-own in the past, with no problem.

The stages are indeed closed, transfer of ownership needed to be completed a year ago.

Its a lease-to-own contract and there is no transfer of ownership until Epic-X is ship. I just add the buyer in my Red account as "technical person in charge of the camera". So, you will have access of everything a owner have access (camera firmware upgrade, customer support, etc.).

Lease to own is no longer a valid option in the Stage programs.
