  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

FS: Need a BOMB EVF now?

This seems less than cool.

I have waited a long time for this item, but now I need the money for something else.

Nothing wrong with it, he had the foresight to order an extra one early...it's his to do with as he wishes.

Thanks John,

I wish some one would sell me a Canon Mount for my Epic-X right now with a premium.

I'll pay you 10% over retails for your Canon Mount now if you don't need it yet in the next 7 days.

How about an apples to oranges comparison: when an individual buys more tickets to an event than he intends to use and sells the extras for more than face value, that's called scalpling.

Maybe I should buy two Scarlets and sell one at a premium because that would be the 'smart' thing to do since I know they will be on backorder?

Anyway, I just bought tickets to a sold out concert from a nice guy at face value and that was REALLY cool of him to do. Thus, this would be LESS than the cool thing to do, but you are right Michael can do what he wants and can probably sell at a premium.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, Michael. That said, I know you won't have any trouble selling the bomb.

Couldn't agree more! I AM THE 99% that hasn't received their EVF. I say we start a movement today and call it OCCUPY THORNTON STREET. The Man be keepin me down!

It doesn't seem right that folks would buy into scarcity and sell at a profit. That is un-American and certainly not what the Founding Fathers had envisioned when creating this great nation.

Josh, I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic or not. But in defense of the OP, I am going to say that this is free market working at its best (and possibly be very "American"). The free market allowed him to buy as many EVFs as he wanted, and then sell them for whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted to. The opposite of that would probably be something like communism, where everything has a set price or no price at all. The practice of selling Red at a premium has been going on since back when I got involved with Red products in 2008. I'm not sure why everyone's pouncing on this guy now. Would those same people pounce on Red for creating the conditions for a backorder environment?

Totally sarcastic. I don't understand why there isn't widespread reselling of RED products considering the predictable back order status. This is how basic markets work: buy a pile of what everyone wants and mark it up to what the market will bear. Why wouldn't anyone buy 20 Scarlet's on November 3rd? With the 10% down policy it's a crazy good bet. With all the hype it seems like a sure bet you could make a 30% margin on selling the 19 you don't need. Even with the warranty transfer issue someone would pay the premium. The math: 10% down on $7K = $700, then you resell for a $2100 profit timing the sale just before payment is due. . . that's like a 3:1 leverage bub! Fuckstick - Goldman Sachs would blush at those margins!!

Hopefully Team RED has considered this and has a policy in place to prevent hoarding and scalping on November 3rd.

I always buy extra when I can because you never know when you or some one else will need it.

Remember most camera house and RED do not open on weekends.

I was in in India, my EVF was crew up by an AC.

Luckily my Friend Jeetu had one for me to rent.

I say we start a movement today and call it OCCUPY THORNTON STREET.

I got my Epic ready to shoot that one Man.

Thanks

How long did you wait for your EVF... ?
I ordered 3 more about a month ago.? just seeing how long it took for yours to show up.

This order went in first week of July Mark.

Doug Beatty

Would you let us borrow money for like 3 months and pay you back without interests?

I'm sure a lot people here would think you are a really cool guy.

Thanks

M

Money is liquid, Bomb EVFs (unfortunately) are not. Liquidating means you are selling at cost or at a loss to get money out of assets.

Perhaps it would have been more tactful if you proposed a trade for someone that needed a Bomb EVF in exchange for a Canon mount and $1,200?

My personal belief is that this is a community, not a marketplace, but do what you will.

Shessh.... I so hope they have ramped production on things like this. The importance of some of these accessories is paramount for our work.

I'm like you Michael, Ive ordered up more than one of everything... but to be honest, I doubt I'd load it up to sell it, but I most certainly wouldn't loose out on it.
By the time you pay taxes, freight, handling etc etc... You have to sell it for more... it's a free market place, and when there is a shortage of something. it becomes a commodity... like buying a rare care.

We put a deposit on a new helicopter one day and sold the place for 50k more 6 months later to someone that wanted to jump que...
It's not illegal or bad human nature.

There is no reason to go backwards, only forward.

Have a nice day. :)))

Sorry, to be specific, I have a bomb evf (brand new) and I am willing to trade for a canon mount +$1200.

Located in Los Angeles.

Hi Mark,

We both know that our business in film making not buying selling RED stuffs.

These accessories are paramount to our work as you have said. I totally agree with you. I'm hoping for a more liquid market actually so when we need something we can get it. Even from a 3rd party and paying a little more.

I heard that they are going to ramped up productions soon.

There is no reason to go backwards, only forward.

Thanks

Have a great day. :))
