I will have for sale soon (within 1-2 months) a set of Leica Summilux-C Primes set. Set of 8.

Just gauging the interest...I may decide to keep them but if an offer is good enough, I may sell them. The current waitlist I hear is approx late 2014-mid 2015 if you order today. Please email me at nli @ q-films.com if interested.

Curious . . . what did that set cost you out the door?

Best of luck Norm.

If our sets are still no were near delivery when yours comes up, I'll buy... if not we'll let some one else take them from you, however as I said, I hope you actually keep them as this are no doubt the best Cine Lens ever made by a long shot.

Cost in EURO is around 130k so in US Dollar will be closer to 180k.

Remember Brett, this is for 8 lenses set, not all the announced lenses.

@Ketch - don't you need 2 sets of these since "Rape of a Beauty" is to be shot in 3D/48fps?

Norm, did you ever get these lenses and do some tests?

humm

humm

the amount must be paid to you or leica ?
Is it an auction ?

I ask it once a lot of people seems to be interested.

best

Gabriel

we shot some VFX things with a summilux-C set here in stockholm a few weeks back. I can verify that yes, those lenses are better than anything we ever tested when it comes to resolution and clarity. We where using the 150mm on the epic and a 70mm on a Miro. And more than once I did not realize that I was in the zoomed in focus mode, since the picuture looked just as sharp zoomed in as in regular mode.

The final film does not show the quality of the glass since it's a lot of edge defocus and dof added in post but they for sure did the post work a lot better since we got such high detail level in the source material even from the small ship miro.

Norm,

Where you still selling this set?

We've got two sets in Rental. Camtec 818.841.8700

I can totally vouch for Kavon and CamTec. Great camera house to "try before you buy". BTW: CamTec also has a wide selection of older lenses in their inventory including sets of some of my personal favs like the Todd AO Anamorphics and Kowa Spherical Primes.

The Leicas really are almost perfect when it comes to sharpness, resolution, lack of distortion (the 18mm is ridiculous) etc. But remember that you NEED to have properly serviced lenses when you deal with primes like the Leicas or Master Primes. Any slight collimation issue will result in noticeably inferior results. Having a reputable rental house / lens tech is a must.

Would love to see the Leica Cs widely available. They are spectacular and IMHO, far and away the best lenses ever made. Who actually has a set in hand? Anyone know how many sets Otto has in inventory.

Cheers - #19

I heard Otto gets the first 11 sets. There is a set in new york at CPT. Thats all that i know of.
