  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

FS: LEICA S. Cine Primes "Ready to Ship now"

Is it yours Ketch? Why? Pm me pls... Cheers

Yeah, it's his.

I was reading about this lens and you beat me to the question. So Master Primes > LEICA SUMMILUX CINE PRIMES.

I'd almost assume without asking... but did you test the two sets against each other and Lecia came up short? What were your findings? It comes down to choice of course, would love to hear your reasoning.

Actually no, Will, this is not my set as I replied to Raphael, I am offering this for a friend, but yes I did tested the Leica against the Master Primes, but before I pronounce my self on it I'll wait for some tests results to come back for the lab... ;)

my mistake. I knew you had one order in and thought it was delivered. Glad I asked. Now after that 1 minute grade of Cary, nice shot btw, I wouldn't think the lab time is very long these days... ? :)

When I first shot the Leica 40mm in Munich thanks to the loaner form Band Pro there, I was very impressed with both the great Build quality and the small size of the lens, along with its lightweight too, but to make statements based on FACTS, its a different story and I take this stuff very seriously, especially when it comes to Power of Resolution Resolve and Sharpness, but i can already say that this lenses are simply an incredible Achievement from LEICA, this much I can say... ;)

But additionally we'll want to do an other test side by side against the Master Primes in a controlled environment before I pronounce my self definitively on the matter... ;)

The October Fest footage in Munich, all night exteriors. I thought that looked great. Was the entire festival shot with the single lens?

Ok you win Ketch, not only do you have the most toys you have the most expensive toys.
Wish I had a few bucks for just a couple of these.

I don't need toys, I need tools! I wish too I had cash for these but honestly I'd use the $200k on something else.

I'm curious...
Do these Leica's have a "look" ??

He he, the fact that I have expensive taste is my Handicap, but this set isn't mine, mine will come shortly.

Toys are Tools to some as Tolls are Toys to others... ;)

Yes of course they have a look, all lenses do, might that be the Sterile Cool and Super Sharp look of the Master Primes or the Soft look of the Super Speeds or Warm Look of the Cooke's, Leica's tend to have more contrast, but I retain from giving full review of this particular Lenses till I have finished my tests of them against Master Primes.

I know you said you would not talk price, but what about shipping to the US? Any special tax or fees that I should be aware of ?

They can be picked up in person and or shipped worldwide, Taxes will depend on agreement made for the purchase, if interest just PM for more details and current highest offer.

I was all pumped to get this set but my wife won't let me sell the house and move the family into tent by the river. Guess I'll never understand women, heck, I told her they were "LEICAS", what more could she need to know... ;-)

I'd be willing to trade you a redhead who likes to live indoors...

Cheers - #19

Ha ha,

but actually know that the cost of this is not that far out form the Master Primes or Cooke's.

Lol!

Hopefully someday they will sell these individually so I can at least own one of these beauties.

Actually, since I might keep some additional Focal for personal use, this could also be sold individually as well.

But, the only way this would work is if there are enough buyers to buy out what ever will remain available, and only when all lenses are sold will they be paid for and shipped, if beofre this happens some one was to purchase the entire set then, all best for those that reserved their Focal would be off, unless the bigger buyer was willing to part form those specific Focal.

Bottom line, if offer is made to match then no matter how they are sold, I'll deal with you.

Ketch,
In the SALT lens tests, the 100mms were said to be poorer, relative the other lenses. I think across most lens groups. Have you been able to test the 100mm? If so, what is your opinion?

I think Curran Giddens is referring to Red Heads;)

This is surely not the case with the Master Prime 100mm nor the Leica 100mm, which is in fact one of my favorite for Portrait or Extreme close up cinematography, it is in fact not the case even with Canon as the new 100mm Canon Macro lens is the sharpest of them all form the 14mm to the 200mm "L" series I tested.
