FS: DIT System Portable Water Cooled desktop. Ideal for RED ROCKET or multiple RED ROCKETS.

Full sized ATX portable water cooled desktop system. This system is built for situations where portability is important but the power and flexibility of a desktop is necessary. It features a traditional desktop computer in a waterproof polycarbonate rolling case, along with a Viewsonic 22in LED backlit LCD monitor. It is built on the 3.4Ghz Intel 2600K Sandy Bridge processor and sports 16GB of DDR3 1600Mhz Corsair RAM and an EVGA NVidia GTX560 video card with 1GB GDDR5 VRAM. It features a ventilation system and water cooled CPU that allows the system to run cool while still allowing the system to remain waterproof when it is closed and turned off, and has a quick setup time. It can convert from an open top mode for carts and standing operation to desktop mode quickly. It has a top cover done in plexiglass, there is an easily accessible power plug on top, black anodized aluminum power and reset buttons with a bunch of top mounted ports including headphone and microphone ports, 3 eSATA ports 4 USB 2.0 Ports a Firewire 400 port and 2 USB 3.0 ports. The system includes Carbon Fiber Vinyl Accents, and a large viewing window. It also has a hinged door that allows easy access to all of the motherboard ports, and a power strip and also provides storage for the mouse and keyboard for traveling. It also has built in Wifi and Bluetooth. It can be set up or broken down in less than a minute and can be locked up with 2 Padlockable Hasps

This is our floor model and is being offered at a discount. While it is essentially new it has some slight blemishes that keep us from selling it as new, but it is still nice looking and the computer parts are all new. It includes the monitor, speakers, cordless keyboard and a cordless mouse.

Thank you! Honestly I built it to run as a Hackintosh, so it's actually 100% OSX86 compatible, but I can't really sell it that way, but it works great that way too. I'd be temped to put a bunch of Cuda cards in it for a Premiere Editing system. It's also nice for on set editing with the big monitor and all. It's my no compromises solution to portable computing.

We went for a slightly different approach, Since we do mostly motion control we need a video overlay/mixer in the mix so we made a case with HD in and out then both fire wire in/out and Matrox MXO2 mini to connect to a 17" macbook pro with the special contector/slot (do not remember the name) Then we will have the Maxx digital raid and the laptop standing next to the case. Also here is a little announcement. We will update our propiteray software "Syndicate Capture tool" so that it has automatic on/off video capture for EPIC. In other words no need to have "video assist" sitting by the monitors hititng on of record before / after each take. Our software "looks for the red dot" on screen and records to your mac evey time the camera is rolling.

See our box here: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10150310324828043

And here you find the 7D capture tool demo license: http://www.syndicate.se/Default.aspx?Id=311

same will be out for epic really soon. Auto video asist is great, you do not need a dedicated person and you do not disturb the camera team with playback from camera. Also it works with the wire less HD stuff so you can set it up on any mac and record over the Wifi in auto mode..

That's a cool setup Björn. I have a Macbook pro 17" as well and I considered using it with the Maxx setup. There are a few reasons I chose to go this route instead. I use the RED ROCKET on set for doing transcodes. It's one of the ways that I can make my RED ONE and EPIC more appealing to some of the production companies that are tempted by the Alexa and the simple 1080p workflow. I offer my clients the same option so they get not only the R3D files but the 1080p transcodes as well, and with the RED ROCKET I can keep up with the transcodes and they get them at the end of the day with the footage. The only restriction with using a RED ROCKET on a Maxx ExpressCard to PCI Express backplane adapter is that Expresscard is only 1 lane and that reduces the performance of the RED ROCKET card significantly. I also use Decklink cards in my system and found myself being restricted with the expandability of a laptop. Thunderbolt will help but is still not a replacement bandwidth wise to a 16 lane PCI Express bus. I've also seen some great DIT stations that use a standard MacPro tower, and that is a great way to go too, but I wanted something more portable than that.

Thank you Cid. I'm glad you like it! I have a RED ROCKET in the one I take out in the field, and a few other add-ons including an Express Card slot. I can customize the system to your needs.
