So if there's a need to output ProRes when when working with the Windows Resolve.. any cross-platform workflow suggestions/experiences? I'm most worried about possible gamma issues. What intermediate format would be the smartest choice - DPX/TIFF/Uncompressed 10-bit 4:2:2 Quicktime/DNxHD...?

Almost everyone will take DNx175/10bit in place of ProRezHQ these days... that's where i start the discussion

I'm with Dermot and Rosario. I'll be glad to see ProRes go. Even though it's a nice codec, the gamma issues are a godawful nightmare. Right now I'm exporting for a client zipped 4k DPX. Perhaps you can do DPX to mac AE to ProRes?

Thanks for your comments. That's what I also figured, DPX and TIFF sequences being the best options for an intermediate. Would be simpler workflow-wise not to involve a round in After Effects, that's why uncompressed QT seems also a good option, straight from Resolve to Final Cut. Have to do some testing..

that not correct, DnxHD codec's have been supported in Apple for years and years now.

For our deliveries, iTunes will only accept ProRes 422 HQ or Apple Uncompressed, or certain mpeg streams.

DNxHD is not an option.

dpx, tiff, or exr...

however, when you start worrying about an intermediary format... i'd start thinking about an alternate deliverable. discuss it with your client... long story short, it always saves $$$ to render once.

prores hardly makes since coming off a pc workflow.

How about exporting your resolve project file and opening up the project in Resolve lite on a Mac? Then do your pro res export from that machine.
How about BM start writing Prores on Windows side, like FilmMaster? It is obviously doable...
