I just want to know what framerate are people generally using.

As you all know already, we get a nice 'filmic' effect at 25 (or 24) but that can be a little too much when panning fast. At 50 (or closer to that) framerates we get the typical video 'smooth' look.

What I would like to know is are you shooting more at 25?

OR are you shooting at 50 and adding the 'filmic' (like the Nattress film look filters) look later.

Thanks.

in Pal land you would shoot 25p unless for slowmotion and such.... I think you are thinking of 25p (progressive) vs 50i (interlaced) from "the video world."
That's it. I am in PAL land. Now I get it. So why would one want to shoot 50i right? I just want to know if people do shoot 50 with RED.
