  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Frame.IO Launches

How do I export comments?? It's said that this should be possible with the new improvements (frame.io twitter). In desperate need of this.

If you didn't already find it, pressing cmd-e exports the current set of comments to a text file and downloads automatically :)

Thanks, but it's really buggy. Letters like Å, Ä and Ö doesn't work and it's very condensed and hard to read. Would be nice if it ends up more like a representation of how it looks in the comment section. It's almost better to print screen it as it is now.

I just started using, very cool. What I think I will do first is use it for all the review processes (i.e. storyboard reviews/comments, shot reviews, vfx reviews&comments, reel reviews/comments).

I havent had a chance to try but how about for dailies?

As in every clip off the mags.

Sure, everything that involves more than one pair of eyes to look at footage makes sense. For dailies you are just going to need more space and a fast internet-connection.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a way to directly upload out of Premiere, other NLEs and RCX after encoding with a fine-tuned profile? ;)

Or auto-sync via an app like dropbox.
Or direct import from Cloud-providers (Dropbox, Google Drive...) to frame.io.

In a pinch Ive rendered straight to my Dropbox designated folder on my Mac.
But not always since that internal drive tends to fill up fast.

Thanks for that John :)

We're diligently working on some updates for functionality and design. Bear with us as we push Frame.io into the next iterations. As always you can submit questions and Bug Reports/Feature Requests via the "?" int he lower right hand of the app when you're using it. that helps us communicate directly with you as well as tracking those comments.

Thanks and glad you're all digging it. Some great things coming down the pipe.

It's coming :) We have a great FCP-X workflow we were previewing at NAB, launching very soon. The rest of the NLE's to follow.

Have a little problem with a long clip. I'm working on a feature and I'm showing the whole cut to the other parties in post production. The whole file is a 1h 40min, 1,7GB, H.264 file. The others and myself, even on really fast connections, have a hard time viewing it smoothly. It stops and buffers and stutters sometimes.

Is there a way to improve the playback maybe? Is it a server or client side issue?

Christoffer,
Can you log this in the app using the ? in the lower right? makes it easier to communicate with you and log the issues.

thanks!

How do I do this? Can only see the chat ( ? )-signed button but nothing for logs.

Yes that Chat button. It kind of their centralized messaging system which they also use to track user requests and problems.

Whenever you have a question or problem, click on the button and type a description of what is happening.

exactly, thanks Todd!
I meant its for us to track, thats a portal for you to communicate/chat with us directly while also allowing us to catalog the issues or requests on our end much easier.
