Another Forged Carbon Weapon fresh out of the oven. Looks like we are going to be making alot more of of these in both 6k and 8k than I imagined... So much so that the first W6k shipments in July likely will all be Forged. Pretty incredible considering it is an unlisted camera that you need to actually arm wrestle your sales rep to order :)

damn, so nice! Wish I could have this, love my scarlet still though. It has been a privilege to work with my camera the past three years, can't wait to move up and can't imagine shooting with any other format then Red. Thanks man.

Thanks Brandon for the kind words. It has really been a special week for me. I have shot big every day. Some days with big crews, some days just myself. I know that sounds a bit lame to all of you guys that get to shoot every day all year round, but I've gotten a bit bogged down with the business side of things lately and I've been slacking. As Ivan would say.. I've gotten the fire back.

It really makes me appreciate Brent and the rest of our team for really stepping up and the engineers that just continue to put incredible cameras in my hands. It also makes me appreciate all our incredible customers like yourself that just keep supporting us and pushing us to move forward. All the 3rd party manufactures that have jumped on board making cool new things for our cameras, and all the incredible talent out there shooting incredible images on our cameras.

So thank you, thank you, thank you all...

:)

Suggestion: get a good assitant and go shoot more.

Automated reply: "Sorry, out shooting".

Jarred, show us your shooting skills.

Edit:
Weapon or not, lol. Interested in seeing what you got!

Not much of a fashionista here so a plain ol' Woven Carbon Fiber 8k' will do. '-)

However, I do appreciate those who want the bestest firstest as their purchases help keep RED funded. That plus the fact these unique models create buzz among people who normally wouldn't buzz-hype a camera.

Advanced marketing for sure.

Looks like I'm headed downtown to arm wrestle Rique.

That's what I like to hear Jarred. I think some people may forget that before RED took off you were out there capturing some great footage, a talented shooter. We get to see hints of it at times on Reduser, but if you were out there shooting every day I think people would be blown away by your work.

Love it! I did some crazy interview at NAB where I stated it looked like "alien technology". Love it's warped up skin.

I've gotten the fire back.
Amazing to read. I'm glad you are having a great time. It's well deserved.
Hope we are going to see some of your footage. :)

No. Thank you!

RED is the one and only company that makes me feel there is always lots of unconditional giving and taking between customers and company going on. I mean besides the usual transfer of money and equipment.

And that forged Weapon is sick, looks like SciFi-tech, a dream! :)

So true, Steve. I get to interact with a lot of shooters and see a lot of work each day. Jarred is easily in that top 1%. Sometimes, I am lucky enough to get those 3am emails with shots he did that day (where he has the time, I have no idea).

It's the best looking camera RED has made, no question. You guys might need to figure out a way to make them for the masses.

In reading about forged carbon it seems that this may be possible since the process itself is much faster than normal carbon fiber manufacturing. The biggest difficulty is apparently making the mold - getting the precise flow characteristics, pressures, etc. And the molds are so precise that it reduces or eliminates the need for trimming excess.

Seems this is a pretty new manufacturing technology. (Callaway combined with Lamborghini to develop it for their golf club driver heads.) Good on Red for moving into new and better manufacturing technologies.

Congratulations on this success. Certainly based on a good "nose" for the special things in life.

I have to wait quite a while until I might be able to order, but I'm happy RED is pushing hard.

Wait.. What? Crap... I guess I'll have to talk to my rep now.
