Thanks Tony

Looking forward to playing with them when I'm back from NAB.

Best

I'm not ready to purchase those, but I will say they look like they're in great shape.

What is the niche or special quality of the Canon K35's?

Josh love your profile picture sums up the game if you make films or want to make them you will end up on the street and lose your family on the way we just made a doc on the film game called death by a 1000 cuts.

HOLY CRAP!!! THAT"S EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME!!

K35= Very small and light-weight, very sharp, very fast, covers 5K, very little distortion, won an Oscar back in the day. Pretty hard to beat in this price range if you find a set in good shape.

Do they do anything freaky (in a good way) or are they just workhorses with a neutral look?

I know that "Aliens" was shot on them as a reference, they are one of the few prime sets I've never had the chance to shoot.
They are some of the first aspherical lenses to be used in cinematography and generally regarded as sharper than the Zeiss Supers.

Thanks Obi-Wan! See you in a few

Yes! Aliens 2 was shot on K35 at Pinewood Studios with James Cameron. My company of the day supplied ALL the 5 Units of Cameras. I was Moviecam UK Agent at that time.
This is why if you check the RED Threads you will find my words on Canon K35 lenses.
Just keeping the knowledge going.

Hi Tony,

Can you post a picture of the 18mm lens?
Thanks!

Do you know why Canon stopped making them? Not enough profit in them? More money to be made in still lenses? Couldn't beat Zeiss priceess? Seems as if they would have been competitive for a while.
Thanks
Rob
