SOLD

This is for a 24TB SAS Raid with a SAS expander as seen on this page http://www.maxxdigital.com/evo-6g-8bay-rackmount-expando.html .

The one I am selling has a black face plate and black trays. It comes with 8 Hitachi 6 Gbit drives, model HDS723030ALA640. They have about 6 months left of warranty on them.

This comes with a power cable and the raid chassis, drives, drive trays and a 2 meter Sas Cable. YOU WILL NEED A SAS RAID CARD IN ORDER TO CONNECT THIS. I'd recommend either an Atto R680 or Areca 1880

I'm looking for $4000+shipping

How mobile is the rack mount RAID system?

Yes this unit is 24TB of storage, if you do Raid 5, then it's 21TB, Raid 6 is 18TB usable. Depending on which configuration you choose for the raid and which raid card (usually we use R680s) you'll easily see 800+ Read/Write. When it is empty it's 1000MB/sec.

You need to buy an R680 or Areca 1880 to run the SAS raid or you could daisy chain it as this has a built in SAS expander.

For sure, it depends on what you consider mobile. I've been all over with Maxx's raids on multiple projects and loved them. If you're talking about if you'd ever use it with like a run and gun laptop setup, for sure it's not portable.

This really boils down to what else you have and where it is mounted.
