  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Flowcine Gravity One

Kenyon gyros are also extremely noisy. I hope that's a consideration with the 'extended' gimbal G1 module currently in development.

Thanks, Eric. I'll give Ric a call when I have some down time.

Looiking at those specs. http://www.gyroscope.com/d.asp?product=GYROSTABILIZER those are just one axis gyros, though I dont understand how that can happen since if a wheel spins it creates gyro effect in 2 axis, but in anyway, if that is the case, then you need 3 of them to at least stabilise 3 axis, and that brings the budget very close to lenyon. If you stack 3 of those things, you create a very large bulky system, and looking at the mass they can stabilise , its not anything close to kenyon 4x4, so I wouldnt go for this.

The G1E however will be a sensor-motor-gyrostabilised system and you will not need kenyon to work with it.No noise either.

regards

Do we have any sample videos shot with the Gravity One WITHOUT a Kenyon gyro?
I read that a perfectly balanced Gravity One rig is up to 70% stabilized, while the remaining 30% of vibration comes from friction at the bearing and other factors.

I'd like to see for myself how good that is. I want to see what I can and cannot do with it. Can I run around with it? Can I climb stairs? What about shooting from a vehicle on paved roads?

Hello Jack.
Peter is about to edit some videos from the Nothern ice shots he did recently, its just that he is running on shows, but he will catch up soon.
please give him some time, then you get to see the outcome and make up if its something for you.\it works better with heavier camera set ups since the large diameter bow reacts better.
we are making more improvements and many exiting new stuff.
The Serene spring arm for the easy rig for example has been tested and now Iam redesigning it to get it ready for production .
thanks and stay tuned

Thanks Constantine.
That's exciting news about the upcoming improvements.
Do you plan to continue to revise the design of the Gravity One itself?
What if I buy one right now? Am I able to upgrade to all the new improvements down the road?

hey Jack, very correct.

I'm trying to work out the best way to mount my monitor with the G1 as a Noga arm moves to much. I'm interested from his photos how Eric is doing this. I have a red NATO top plate and the 19mm ET piece from my old view finder but what are the other parts?

This is a good solution, I believe Eric uses something similar

uvf mount from WC

I will eventually design a few practical things like this, I am just trying to do the stuff that don't exist first, and since there are rather many options you have a wide choice.

Hello fellows.

After the first testing of the Serene arm , which is a spring arm that absorbs walking and running errors , we are making the new improved design now , and we will very shortly present this around next month.
The Serene arm is an add on to easyrig current arms, with minor twinging and fully adjustable to different camera weights.
It can be used with or with out the G1 and also used with other Gimbals+Easyrig combinations.

In other terms , all gimbal users that use Easyrigs will be able to add this to their system to improve stability on those axis that Gimbals cannot offer stabilization, and at the same time have fully extension of the easy rig cord on the fly, going from high to low modes.
Pictures and videos will be released around next month.

More updates will follow about the motorised G1E gyro-stabilised version of the G1 for cameras from 5-15kg.

For any additional information please contact info@flowcine.com or constantine@flowcine.com

best regards

This one sounds as amazing as interesting in itself... Let's see what you guys have pulled off this time!!

Serene arm for easy rig 2.5 and cinema 3 will be available for demo at NAB 2014

Tested for loads 7- 20kg fully adjustable tool-less

allows full extension of the easyrig string for high low mode on the fly in transitions.

The Serene will be user adaptable

It will also work for all available Gimbals + Easyrig combination adding walking running error stabilization

Will update with NAB info in the next couple of weeks

Production will start very soon after Nab 2014

Regards

Constantine

Looking forward to se serene in action! Any timeframe on the electronic stabalizer?

I'm trying to figure out how this is bolted on to an EasyRig, but I like the concept of the arm acting as a spring loaded fulcrum/pulley. I imagine you would need to recalibrate the tension in the spring depending on the weight of your rig. Looks cool, I hope it's reasonably priced!

Hey Doug , you adjust the tension of the spring, tool-less on the fly according to your camera + gimbal weight.

Of course you need to have the correct easyrig absorver arm for your camera + gimbal load.

The adjustment is done in seconds

Hello Constantine,

I have a question, that i've also sent in PM to the Flowcine page on FB from my personal account: Can the Gravity work with Atlas Support too?

Since i don't have Easyrig, that would be nice for me.

Thank you.

Jean

EDIT: I got the answer on my FB page, thank you.

So it is maybe possible to use Atlas with Flowcine gears, but we need to see yet a test.

That's a quite goid news for me, keep up the great work guys! ;)

Installation looks tricky, so it's probably best to install once and leave it. Where does the EasyRig clamp rest when it's not attached to a load? The bungee on my 2.5 is about 3 feet, how much of that is taken up by running the cord through the Serene arm pulley?

The entire unit looks like it is tied down with a single bolt to the Serene arm clasp (which by itself looks to be relying on friction + a single bolt on the EasyRig arm to stay in place)

What's the largest recommended load and how are you preventing the entire thing from twisting and sliding over time as rigs put torque on the unit's sole mounting point?
