Hi there, my name is Peter Gardiner - I'm the brother of Tony who started this thread. I just wanted to provide an update on our dealings with FJS.
I am only posting this on a public forum in the hope to inspire some action on FJS’s behalf. I feel hugely taken advantage of given our patience to date and our relative geographic isolation to the FJS Team.
We are currently owed USD41,806.77 from FJS International, from sales of equipment dating back from November 2015.
We first engaged FJS from recommendations and word of mouth. They successfully sold a RED Dragon Kit for us mid-2015 - but then, unfortunately, things turned sour. Communication became infrequent, and emails & phone calls were not returned. It grew to a stage where we became so concerned we had to hire a private investigator to learn what was going on.
We then found out that the following gear (totalling USD64,750.00 in value) brokered with them had been sold without our knowledge:
- Zeiss mk2 Super Speeds in November 2015.
- RED One MX Kit in February 2016.
- RED Lens Kit in March 2016.
We also found out through the private investigator that FJS had been a victim of financial fraud, and it’s owner of poor health. And to FJS’s credit they have:
- Since restored communication
- Relinquished all commissions on the gear sold
- Have agreed to pay interest of 5% pa until the money is paid back
- Have paid USD27,000 back to date
However, they have been unable to provide a clear indication of when or how they will be able to pay the remainder of the money back. I have repeatedly requested for a payment plan they can afford to be put forward, but they have not done so.
I can sympathise with small businesses running into hard times, but it has now been 20 months with only vague promises.
I look forward to hopefully updating this posting with good news shortly.
