Got my Scarlet Dragon a few weeks ago and did various tests with assorted lenses and lighting conditions to get a good idea of what I'm working with. Then I put them into what I can only call a bit of a "Visual Poetry Montage/Phantasmagoric Rendering" just to create a little structure that approached a bit of narrative. So there should be a little something for everyone in it.
It was shot with Rokinons (35mm & 85mm), a Canon (75-300mm), Cooke S4Minis and a Nikkor zoom. I did some grading on the footage to draw out the dynamic range of the sensor, but have yet to fully calibrate the monitor and am far from a pro colorist, but as my wife would say "It's close enough for government work". Shot at various resolutions (mostly 5K, some 2KHD), and rendered out at 4K and presented here at 1080p (whew). I think the color rendition looks pretty good for some basic unscientific testing, and am excited to put together some actual narrative "professionally lit" stuff with a dedicated cinematographer that can more fully bring out what's possible in the sensor.
Thanks for looking. Enjoy
