  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Fincher + Probst = Xenomorph - Mindhunter Camera Dept.

Yeah definitely a "one off". Maybe it will spark a new module or something down the pipeline but for now I don't see the modular system going anywhere.

It seems like no one's noticed the VR girl wearing a headset with a bullet proof lens on it? Maybe Jim's project? We all know that Jarred can't hesitate to hint at stuff when showing other stuff :tongue_smilie:
 
In discussions with Brook Willard 7 years ago I suggested something along these lines. The Xenomorph is far more sophisticated and beautifully designed than I had imagined, far more, full respect. The concept of putting all the "gack" in a one piece shell that lent itself to "ENG style" operation just made sense. I owned and operated a Sony D-30 ENG cam from 1996 until I picked up RedOne #19 in August 2007. I still miss the ergonomics of that old Sony...

When Jarred said the Weapon form factor would not change for the next four years, he added "except for some specialty cameras" which I'm sure he was referring to this at the time.

I didn't mean the camera, I meant the subject in that image that was being filmed with that camera :)

This is designed for Fincher by Fincher exactly how he wanted it. you can't buy it . but it's a DSMC2 brain and module based off of the base expander so in reality you all could make your own versions of this if you wanted to...

So Fincher is going hand held now? That would be a radical change to his usual way of shooting, but maybe Mindhunter is such a story that works best in that way :)
