  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I can't help but share my excitement, it's like I got the camera all over again! Well, I did get it in the mail again :blush: I had a terrible time swapping the mounts, and ended up having to send it back to Red HQ. I have to say, I have never experienced such good customer service. Even though they're busy as heck, they keep their word and do it right.

So just wanted to share some pics. I have to admit, I'm spoiled with PL lenses. Evin is right about old lenses shifting when you pull focus. Had just one lens with that problem, others were fine. Image looks spectacular though. Gonna go shoot some Hawai'i tomorrow with kowboy :w00t: We'll do some red to nikon comparisons...
 
Did some quick grades before dinner... Nikon glass ain't so bad :love:
but we'll shoot some more stuff tomorrow!

I got some from redrock, one is from jbk cine from a while back, and others from ebay (india??) Not the best because of the screw, I like the jbk cine ones better. Man, the reverse focus is really screwing me man. Not to mention the sigma 14mm rotates the right way (cine) :umm:

That was a reason that I cancelled my RED Nikon mount.

By the way I keep all my Nikkor glass for RED anyway.

Still waiting for Birger Canon EF that I can get also lovely

Leica's and Zeiss's that all rotate the right way (cine)

and locking better on the mount/adapter.

About the Leica and Zeiss glass quality no doubts.

Also would add some Sigma's.

So that could be something else.

Where did you get the mount from--Red? Are they now shipping? Sorry if I missed the info elsewhere.

Yes, We are shipping the Nikon mounts :)
 
Koa, which matte box are you using with nikon lenses.

use a reverse gear or it is it a reverse arm ? for the FF ...
