Finally, my Nikon Red

Koa, which matte box are you using with nikon lenses.

It's a Cavision, a bellows version. But I wouldn't recommend it at all. I had to do some major modifications to make it fit with the red, not to mention I can't grab the sides of the mattebox when I go handheld. It feels like it's going to snap. I'm just waiting it out till the redrock comes out, I have to say a swing away design is an absolute must when using primes!! Non swing absolutely sucks on set. Also that's an older 1030 Oconnor head for those who were wondering-also wouldn't recommend even if it's serviced like mine is. I'm saving my pennies for an 1030HDS version or the 2060...

One thing I like about the cinetech FF is that it has hard stops so I can pull my own focus when I need to-haven't missed a mark yet . And I also like that I have a classic wooden knob, I mean who has that anymore? :tongue:

can anyone give me some light as to how to install the nikon mount??
do i have to take off the pl mount or do i attach it to it?

Also hard stops on a follow focus sounds great. I have an FF2 and I'm currently researching trying to decide what to get for my second follow focus, I'm thinking I want something 19mm, hard stops sounds great. Is that a mod you can do to any follow focus or is it just the Cinetech? Any others do it?
