  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Finally FCP X support for RED

Once BMD updates XML to 1.2 we will no doubt be able to go directly into Resolve that way. That are pretty quick about those things so it the wait won't likely be too long.

So what would the workflow be like if you want to use Davinci Resolve to do color correction? Just edit your project (in 4k) in FCP, export (4K) file and import in Resolve and export the color corrected (4k) project for delivery? That's it? And by the way, what file format would you export from FCP for Resolve?

Why not pass the XML to Resolve?

I had a snipe to make in regards to your comment and BMD's present state, but I totally respect the company so I bow out :)

Media Composer supports Rocket card, but only for transcode/rendering. Also, the card is only enabled when the debayer is set to FULL in the Media Creation settings. Not the most intuitive, but it is supported in a non playback scenario. I don't think you will see accelerated playback for a while due to the player pipeline architecture. So good for something, just not everything - and yes, only at HD resolution for finish.

Does anyone know if RED / Apple have any plans to allow HDRx R3D files to be tweaked in FCPX "Modify Red Raw Settings" as with Premier or RedcineX ?
