  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Finally FCP X support for RED

start editing right away with native support for .r3d files!!! NIce

I wonder, if this welcome development may change some people's mind about jumping the Apple ship. Just yesterday Avid stock got absolutely crushed after Avid reported very disappointing quarterly results. Makes one think, if it's worth the expense and effort of moving to Avid instead of giving Apple the second look.

So says Meisler supports Prores, so is this 4.2.2 or 4.4.4 ?

Looking forward to here how smooth the r3d playback. Still getting a pc as new workstation. Bu perhaps an macbook pro in the future.

For this to work:

- need FCP X 10.0.6
- need our workflow installer 2.0
- need Rocket 1.4.28 driver & included firmware (if using Rocket)

Rocket will auto detect per default. For more control you can configure it in our REDcode preference panel (which is now 64-bit enabled as well).

I have been listening to Avid's earnings conference calls over the past few years. The consistently high level of bullshit has risen to the point of just below sociopathic.

Kyle: it's an option. ProRes is less resource intensive than REDCODE, so some people may want to use that option. All about options.
