Its odd that they tout Color on their own website then dump it a year later.... Apple make amazing products but every once in a while they contradict their own philosophy. Why would they just dump Color and dump some big 'pro' features-XML for example? They should continue with iMovie as the consumer product.
I have been working with Premiere for several months now. [SNIP] This package provides everything you need and more.

Brandon, you gotto give it to them, that there are no send by MMS option ;-)
I have been working with Premiere for several months now. It provides: Instant Import of rd3 files. Instant Playback of rd3 files. The ability to adjust raw files within Premiere in real time. Realtime Color Correction. (nVidia Card Required) Complete linking to After Effects and Audition for advanced finishing.
Once you learn the interface, the editorial process is the same as any other professional app. There are bins, a timeline, and record modes just like all the other Pro editors. It's just that some of the functionality is in different geographical places and that's not a big deal. This package provides everything you need and more.

how come adobe did RED support and FCPX doesnt have it? I swear they even did a video for the last time when they brought Pro RES 4444 out that they were all in for RED and excited...right?
That was before they turned into a phone company...
I think there are a lot of great tools out there that are more efficient for short format profesional projects such as music videos and commercials, where a lot of the finishing is done in AE and other motion graphics platforms. I, however, primarily work in features, and taking away tape output, xml, audio outputs, dpx, etc. eliminates everything that I do for a long form project deliverables, including creating outputs for high end post houses to color correct and audio mix.
We've had CS 1-5 Master Collection for years now (6 seats), to date were still Avid first, FCP second and while I have to do something quick PPro last.Let's hope Apple is in talks with Red about Final Cut Pro X. If not, I'll always have Premiere CS5.5 to learn. Word to Apple, don't screw with the Mac Pro!

Time for me to learn Premiere.
