  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

FedEx left a Scarlet Box on my Doorstep

Timur, ha, it was on the street. And I live in Greenpoint, 1 block from the BQE, any curious driver could've snatched it and been on the Triborough bridge in 10 minutes. Again, not Red at all, just hapless Mr. FedEx.

PS you have no idea how often I think about renting those gorgeous Panchros or your 18-100... it's bad. Every time I end up shooting Nikon or renting the DuAll Cookes, but someday you'll hear from me.

:)

You know i actually bring both with me on most shoots. Especially on Narrative. I shoot 80% Zoom on dialogue scenes, and all handheld, and wides on the iPanchros. That Zoom is just magical.

Commerical and corporate, its all panchros all the time. they are just so crisp and drama free.

Had my R1 left outside my front door by FedEx, in view from the street for a few hours and it rained (albeit very lightly). Outer box pretty wet but thankfully RED and their double boxing saved the day!

Happens to me all the time. There have been several packages missing/stolen. And I'm sort of in a none secure building where anyone can stroll by and pick up what they like outside my door. :/

Speaking of FedEx deliver videos, this one is one of my favorites:

I just had a similar experience this past week when my monitor was delivered. Since I wasn't home, the FedEx driver allowed my neighbor to sign for the package. After raising hell I was told by the people at FedEx that I approved of this to happen if I was not available... Which I never did. Needless to say I'm making it so that I can pick up my camera from FedEx when it ships.

I once had fedex leave a printer hidden under a table out in the backyard. Took me 5 days to find it because fedex said it was delivered and signed for, and I found it by pure accident. They can be real scumbags.

FWIW - in my area, Traverse City Michigan, the Fedex guys are the careful diligent ones and UPS are scary. The USPS are so home-towny they will open your front door and set the packages inside if your door is open, lol.

Awesome, just waiting for those other red parts now!

Ah, so that's what they mean by Fedex "Ground"

My FedEx guy is very, very careful. I live in a secure building with a locked drop box specifically for such occasions... he absolutely refuses to leave anything in there. Even if I sign the tag. Oh well, I guess that's better than having a Scarlet doormat.

Posted into that thread long ago, but it's never changed. Any help in making that happen would be most appreciated! I'll do it again for good measure.

you guys should see what's happening to your packages in the warehouses of fedex and UPS. Scary stuff. Maybe they've installed video cameras now and it's got better.
