  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

FD Lenses and Epic

Nice set you've got there! Officially jelaous...

I see you opted for the 55 instead of the 50. Have you had a chance to compare the two and/or was there any other reason why the 55?

Cheers

:sifone: Peter

I have a 50mm f1.2 L FDn here which looks great. Id be interested to know what the 55mm L or Aspheric looks like its said to be very good. Any info on this would be good

Also Probably needs to be in the selling thread.

I have 2 lenses for sale

FD Breech block 35mm f2 convex S.C.C, opticaly Excelent no marks.

FDn 35mm f2 has a small cleaning mark on the coating on the rear element.

Both lenses are clean and in good order.

Any interest.

@ Peter, isn't that cigar soggy by now ....you've been sucking on it for years ? ; )

So I have (all S.S.C.):
20mm f2.8
35mm f2.0
55mm f1.2
85mm f1.8
100mm f2.8
200mm f4.0

I think I'll pick up the 50mm macro. Any suggestions for additions, or does this seem like a pretty good range.

That's a pretty good range. Keep you eye out for a 135mm f/2... its a real gem :) There is also a pretty decent and affordable 135mm f/2.5. Then all you need is the 14mm f/2.8, but that will cost you as much as you have spent on all these other lenses combined. Good luck!

I actually like the non rectilinear / fisheye 15mm. It does not cost much is rather sharp and if I do not like the fisheye feel I just de lens it in post and even after the fact its rather sharp. Do not know the exact name of it but it has some built in color filters. It really have some nice vintage feel to it and is good for POV shootings.
We shot this whole school kids info film with it:

Bjorn why do I get the impression you are always shooting cool shit?

If thats what you think then your cool meter definitly need some calibration, as student counseling films for kids is quite far from cool. :)

But as we could do it really quickly and freely within the clients frame of requests (as always). I figured it was a good project to test things on, FD 16mm fisheye all they way through was one thing to test. Only Small battery led lamps mounted on top and under the camera as the only brought in light was another thing (even though we cheated and used some car headlights in the end for the scene by the hotel) . Running with the camera on a easy rig was the third. (Really not something I would recommend, but we cut the cost of the steady cam, but if it was today I would for sure rent a mövi if available, or even modify our copter into a homemade mövi easy rig you can not run and gun, I learned as it simply transform your body movement towards the camera in the worst way possible.... But basically I think that all projects I learn something from I find cool so I guess you are right then... I shoot cool stuff all the time as I'm always think I learn something. :)

I also got to develop my skills of stitching takes, going from the outside arena scene to the hotel entrance and then turning 180 degree and meet up with the limo 3 takes stitched to one, that was for me the main purpose for doing the whole production :) Did not come out as good as I hoped but I for sure gathered quite a bit of knowledge to do it better next time and even got paid in the process :)
