FCP almost 4k

I believe that FCP can accept projects up to 4000 x 4000 pix. If I were to downscale a 4k red footage so it just fits into fcp with 4000 pix wide, I believe I should pay attention that I use a correct scaling factor to avoid artifacts - what would this be?

I'd just crop off those 96 pixels. Much cleaner than a small scale.

There will be no scaling artefacts if you shoot slightly wider and center crop for 4000 px.

There were the post couple of weeks ago about the workflow on FCP with the trick to actually have 4096 out in spite that FCP will accept 4000 for actual grading. Something to do with proxies.
Use keyword 4096 FCP
