Secure the battery to the cradle with a footlong piece of black gaffe tape. Fold the ends so they are easy to peel back during battery changes. Sounds stupid, but it eliminates accidental shutdowns, and obviously the battery never falls off completely.

If the plate is still under warranty, send it to RED to look at! Every time the batteries disengage, you're stressing the contacts. Pay close attention to the negative as this is the one that tends to melt.

You don't want to damage your batteries over a $185 plate.

yes, but i need all my black gaffer tape for the EVF"mount" *grrrr*:patriot:

jepp, black rubber band ok, but not perfect any other ideas ?!

I'm sorry, but if a battery mount doesn't properly hold a battery, then it is not a proper battery mount. Replace it. If RED doesn't do it satisfactorily, go to another manufacturer. This is why we worked with Switronix to develop a replacement mount.

the problem is "only" the button

can be funny on a waterworld set "blubb"
or from a skyscraper "its raining red - halleluja"

for Red it is a 5min job
Redesign a shorter button
Press 10.000 units - all ok!

haha but that do not work
In horizontal "Mode"

Never see a cam with that problem

In all seriousness, frequent battery drops can crack circuit boards, damage cells, etc and render the battery useless.

Yup. Just got one back from a rental with a sticker that said: "Broken - dropped". The battery is completely dead
