Hello dear reduser,

picture.php

Having a big gig in the Chianti for a group of 20 wine makers in a couple of months.
They are all organic and surprisingly all excellent.
The fact is, I have never comunicate on alcohol before, and really don't want to screw that project.
So I took the profit of friends visiting, to start turning my head around the subject alcohol, and shoot that fake commercial.
We did it an afternoon in a lazy mode (the mattebox stayed in it's case :001_cool:)

The intentions here were, more playing with bottles and glasses, than doing a formal commercial.
I learn a lot with my mistakes, playing with liquid, bottles, glasses and logo was very instructive.
I'm glad I did it before getting into production.
It is the beauty of having at home a tool to do it.
After almost 3 years I still enjoy using the Red to play around.

And By the way "berks" is an expression a French kid will use to say "disgusting". I think English say "Yak"?

Hope you'll enjoy that 1mn15 spot. http://vodhd.massmotionmedia.com/breizo_as3/display.html?projet=berks&width=1024&height=576&bgcolor=000000&autoStart=true&WaitforAllRichmediaDWL=false&autoRepeat=false&autohide_tracker=false&autostop_clickSurface=true

My apologies for the bad English, you are more than welcome to correct me.

Brice,

Very funny! I like the product shots a lot and the way they were intercut into the story of the ad.

Nice work. I am sure these little tests will inform the production.

Very nice. The product shots are beautiful, and It's funny. On the production make sure the other shots get attention too since they were a bit "ordinary looking" just add some lights and maybe open the iris a bit on the tighter shots. Although spelling isn't too important you might want to spell that one correctly since it is your subject:
Alcohol

Nice work

NICE product shot, but be careful showing unappetizing things like dirty bare feet, and burping, when advertising food or drink. We associate the dirty feet to the beer - not good.

I agree with Rob.

But I like the product shots!

That's a really good point Rob!
I'm so naive! I didn't think about it.
The good point is I didn't screw the product shot.
Well I guess, I'm not ready for the commercial world yet  .
Thank you guys.

Loooool !

I'm sorry, but thank you Brice ! I'm laughing so much that I have stomach cramps.
Really nicely done !

I would not go that far. The trick is simply to learn everything you can about the product category you are shooting for. Look at other ads, ask people who work in that domain what kind of ads they like and why. It's a matter of hard work and research, and then you know.

Off course it's always about hard work, and without a doubt I'll continue my homework.
Concerning dirty element associate to a food product, wine world can look really rustic in term of imagery, and the dirt associate to it can give an autentic flavour.

I guess it's all about perception and culture at the end
But you're right Rob "French, we are very harsh and blunt with ourselves"

Ha! Tu as lu mon autre commentaire!

C'est vrai, et des fois j'ai un probleme avec l'habitude Americaine de toujours etre "gentil" quand c'est pas du tout sincere.

About the rustic 'dirt" (also seen in cheese promotion sometimes) it does not look unappetizing in this image. It looks like something you would not mind touching, or smelling. The dirty feet are different in that way. I'm sure you understand the distinction...

Yes I do.
Anyway, thank you for that little conversation, it was a good brainstorming for me.
