I have selected generate XML on export when outputting a timeline but when the render finished there is no XML to be found. Does anyone know were the XML goes when set up in the Export window? Is there a trick top this?

Thanks, Mark

It would be helpful, if you tell us the software you're trying to use.

There are no "EML"s. There are EDLs and XMLs. You can export either by selecting File, Export Shallow. You are likely talking about generating an XML within the quicktime export setup. I just tested this on build 15. I also don't get an xml, even though I specified this. You can email bug reports to redcinex at red. You can get an xml as I described at first.

EML, I meant XML! Sorry.

In the export settings tab on the bottom of the screen, (click new or Edit). Then next to the format option (mine is QuickTime) there is a setup button, selecting this gives you a few options here. I check "generate FCP XML". I then export "selected clips in the timeline" and I get the clips but no XML file. My understanding is with the Generate XML I should get an accompanying file that references the files I just rendered but there is no XML.

The problem is rendering these files out then trying to relink them in Final Cut pro 7, where there was originally 1 take that was cut up into 5 clips, RedCine is now rendering this 1 clip into 5 separate clips with sequential naming that FCP does not recognize. Basically I am trying to get the RedCine timeline back into FCP referencing the new higher res clips with corrected color done in RedCine.

Thanks, Mark

In the forum name you did say "exporting EML". Based on that, how do I know, that you're in the right forum? I'll just move on. It doesn't look like you want my help...

I do and would appreciate you help. I think you miss understood my post. i did not mean it in a negative way.

Sorry for any misunderstanding.
