The best option would be a large sensor, either 4/3 or s35, bar none. I wish the run and gun crowd with go to a different manufacturer.

.... Get real. Get real before November 3rd. Or you will be unnecessarily disappointed. Which is totally unnecessary.

I have read a lot of the posts regarding Scarlet. There are so many unrealistic expectations that it takes the wind out of our sails.
Some people apparently have no idea what realistic is.
I don't know why everyone is hoping Scarlet has a S35 sensor. You already have 2 Red cameras with those. S35 means big, expensive lenses.
I hope Scarlet has a 2/3" or smaller sensor so we can use lightweight, inexpensive glass. And it doesn't need to be 5K - Arri has already proven that people are happy shooting true 2K for many projects, as long as the camera has a good dynamic range and simple workflow.
I envision Scarlet as an Alexa/F900/F23 killer more than a poor-man's Epic. It brings Red into every kind of TV production, including ENG, while at the same time being affordable to the mass market.
If you want a big, 100% high-end pro camera, buy an Epic. Many projects can benefit from small, fast and inexpensive.
Jim said Scarlet would have HDRx and 4K -since Jim is the de facto evangelist when it comes to the holy grail that is 4K. Even if 48FPS is the max, everyone's a winner. I haven't had a need to speculate or comment about any of this because I have an MX, two Epic-M's, and an X on the way (like I need another camera). Scarlet will be a wicked little tool that puts 'pro' into the hands of everyone, and HDRx alone is worth whatever Scarlet's price point is.
