  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I answered this in another thread:

Put one on the Epic today. At 5kFF:
Vignettes badly at 17mm, and a bit worse around 30mm.
It should be ok at 4k.
The 10-22 also vignetted slightly at 5kFF, but not with a hard, black shadow. It might be correctable to an extent in a grade.

I'm assuming most have seen this video for these Red One mounts, it looks VERY impressive. I'm pretty blown away actually!

Have the same question... along with how SMOOTH the focus pulling is. If you look at this, for example:

The focus "steps" like crazy. Is it possible to electronically pull focus with Canon L glass much more smoothly?
 
That's a shame, I assume Birger and Red aren't friends then? Or is it because Red will release their own kick arse version of this? :-)
 
This thing is epic, but i need support for the 2x and 1.4x Canon extenders please!
 
just an update.. we just ran out of mount caps today, Won't get another shipment in till next week. So we will ship this weeks mounts without caps so you can get them sooner, and then send those orders the lens caps separately ( we will pay for the shipping on those ) next week when they come in... I assume that is ok with everyone..
 
I posted this question in another thread already but, Jarred, what is an approx ETA on the REDmote pro? Are we looking at a few months? Six months to a year? Longer?

Sounds good, at least you guys will be on schedule, curious how there are less lens caps then mounts :P guess you guys are churning those mounts out so fast the lens cap peeps are struggling to keep up! haha, be a sight to see!

We will take the Canon EPIC mounts anyway we can get them...ship with or without. Had my order in within min. of going live in the store.
 
Within minutes, and you don't have it yet? My 5 hours after it went up feels months away...jarred, when are you through first day orders?

Thanks for the update Jarred. But my question is how many of these are going out each week. This just seems like its taking a very long time. I understand that there were a lot of orders but when people that ordered the same day it went live on the site still haven't received their mount it makes me wonder if you guys are going to be able to hit that getting out of backorder date that you posted. I'm just frustrated because I have all this Canon glass and no way to use it on my Epic...that I have in my hands. Unlike some people that have a Canon mount but won't be getting their Epic for a while.

I liked the way it use to work. Early adopters got dibs on anything new as that would make sense because they have the cameras. I know things have changed to a first come first serve type of thing and that makes sense. Just coming from a Epic owner still waiting on a Canon mount, I like the old way better.

well kinda.. Mount caps would be probably the best description... since its not a body cap and it is not a lens cap.
