  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Everything you wanted to know about the EPIC Canon Mount

I didn't and I feel like I'm not going to see a Canon mount this year. If people that order before it went live on the site are just getting theirs then it seems like someone that ordered a couple weeks after is going to have to wait a very long time.

mmmm.... I so hope your wrong.

PS -- CANON GLASS is nice but RED PRO PRIMES ARE MUCH BETTER!
That's like saying Canon 85L is much better than 85/1.8. Both are killer lenses and no one can tell which one was used if there is no side by side comparison.

i can tell ... but we apparently see different things ... rpp much better workmanship and they are made for films... I own both glass, el cheapo canon glass for people who cant afford rpprimes....

Got my Canon mount this morning. It's a beautiful piece of design, congratulations. Not sure what already works: focus assist stuff for example? Tipped quickly through the menu and on the screen, not found ;-) With side handle which I haven't yet? Oh, I could read reducer or somebody could give me a hint... Thanks...

Did you use any of that RPP glass on your reel?

Btw, what was the reason for part of the mount being black? The all clear looked way better imo.

ok guys canon build going out to owners tonight :)

yup. And the normal non-af beta of 1.7.9 will be posted to RED.COM as well shortly.

Jarred, is this something to do with auto focus?

Paul, you just named 2 formats and then a kind of glass....maybe I'm not understanding what you mean exactly?

thanks Jarred. The canon mount rocks big time. Solid as a rock so far.
I know I always tease you with the Redmote Pro. But bring it sooner than later and you will sell another 10 thousand Cameras right there because of it.

Killer job guys. Rock on.

Tim

I just had the good fortune of using the Canon mount. Aside from the fact that I was blown away by the camera in general, the ability to use Canon glass was equally as mind blowing. We used the Canon 70-200, 16-35, 24-70, 24-105 and the Sigma 10-20. All worked great and the picture is amazing. We were switching back and forth fairly regularly between the standard mount and the Canon mount. The switch over was very quick and simple.
