  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

heh heh heh love this. Good news is mounts are being put together like crazy right now.. but we just fell short of getting them out Friday. Next week is the week :)

You know, in a way, I kinda like this - you have something to look forward to all the time. Now, it's the Canon mount, next week the RedMote, after that, the BombEVF... Life will be boring without backorders. But then again - I guess there will always something I want immediately that just isn't ready to ship yet.... Good thing? Bad thing? Hell I really don't know :)
 
Jarred, any idea on numbers? 10's, 100's, 1000's? I hope the back orders get past the "15min. after they went up in the store" mark. I so need this little thing of beauty, I just bought a couple more Canon lenses in anticipation of it. I think I'm up to around 18 Canon lenses.

If one was to order an Epic and Canon mount tomorrow - what is the delivery time for both? I was told a month on the Canon mount last week but would love to hear that all units on order (including mine) will be shipped next week. Epic without the Canon mount is a camera without an lens for me.
 
I'm confused.

Next week, as of the 16th, or as in this week the 9th onward?

i love the way this mount is engineered, by the looks of it, canon should take a page out of RED's book and redesign their own mount.

I know the feeling! Except I'm still waiting for everything...

All the same, I had the pleasure of working with the DSMC Canon Mount on a Red Bull shoot, and I have to say, it felt spectacular to have the option of getting away from PL glass for certain applications. The Red guys have really outdone themselves on this engineering feat (well, both Epic and the canon mount).

Crossing my fingers both will be headed my way soon! I have a feature in Sicily coming up with a very limited crew, so I'll need to keep the camera as trim as possible...

Just installed my Canon Mount. Rock solid, much better than on 5D Mark II. Is the touch screen autofocus not enabled up to now (firmware 1.6.40)? I can only manual focus my EF 50 L 1.2.
 
1.7a will be the first public Autofocus build.

By "manual focus," do you mean you can only focus with your fingers (or gears) on the barrel of the lens or do you mean that you can electronically focus the lens (not autofocus) through the camera interface, whether it be with the Redmote or the Side Handle. Jarred, if the answer is with fingers (gears) on the barrel of the lens only, will camera interface focusing come with the 1.7a build? Thanks.
 
Hey Jarred,
On your desk to the left is a Canon Mount that the guys in QC wanted you to look at. There is a small scratch on the flange and they're concerned it does not meet the high RED quality standard. That scratch does not bother me since I will be putting it to heavy work. Please ship it to me with an Epic.
