Set back focus with the PL mount then switch to the Canon mount. SLR lenses are built to accommodate looser tolerances between the mount and image plane. ...The reason the witness marks usually don't line up exactly with your subject distance and how the lenses focus past infinity, to name a couple common attributes.
That said, with other more accurate lens options coming to market, like the Zeiss CP.2's in various mounts, it would be nice to have a system like the RED Focus that can accommodate interchangeable mounting options.
The Null system from AbelCine and IB/E is built to do this in a way by using "null lenses" in your choice of mount and then an optional electronic target that can thread onto the front. Unfortunately, they have yet to release a "null lens" component with any mount other than PL. And the wide optics inside it cause it to be kinda bulky behind the mount flange, so it's incompatible with EPIC. Bummer, too... I own one and really like it, so hoping for an EPIC solution. Canon and Nikon "null lenses" for it would be a nice bonus too.
Optitek's Optimator has interchangeable mounts. Their Pro model also has a micrometer adjustment, which is great if you're working on a system where you need shims or can accurately dial the amount of change you need. The down-side to the Optimator is the reticle image -- which is a great concept how they have it marked out, but it needs to be higher resolution for these 4K and 5K camera systems.
