  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Everything you wanted to know about the EPIC Canon Mount

Anyone get the e-mail?

Wowzers. You guys really were serious when you said you wanted this mount.. almost sold the first batch out already :)

Adding the Canon Mount to EPIC changed everything! GREAT JOB! Hopefully there is a Canon mount Red Focus in the works?

Any emails go out?

We ordered 2 a few minutes before there was notice here on Reduser that they where in the store so thought we must be among the first, but still nothing yet. We've been bothering the poor Red reps since we are desperate for the mounts. Last I heard back was that many people ordered them right away ... It sure would be nice to have people post when they get theirs and when they ordered like we saw the Bomb EVF thread.

Anyone??? I put my order in for this as soon as it opened up for ordering. Just got the order email intially.

Idea: how about making the shipping time updates for these things be live and dynamic like when your on hold and the recording says "your approximate wait time is 8 minutes". That on hold thingy was the best invention ever - I now know if I have time to go potty thereby multitasking like a pro

I'm anxious to get my shipping notification as well. In the meantime - any of the lucky few with mounts be up for renting?

I don't know whether this has been addressed, but I'd like to know whether with these intelligent mounts (canon and nikon) we will be able to calibrate the focussing on them. I know that RED is building a database of lenses for the mounts, but what information will be provided to the mounts?

The question I'm really asking is whether we will be able to adjust the the focus scale (for now on the REDMote, later on the REDMote pro with the focus wheel) so that we can have adequate control over the tiny focus scales typical of photo lenses...

It has been addressed. RED is characterizing Canon and Nikon lenses for this very purpose, and, I imagine, other functional purposes. It is one of the strongest arguments for the proposition that high-quality electronic stills lenses can effectively substitute for high-cost manual cinema lenses on the Epic.

This mount is what allows me to justify an Epic purchase. Would love to have a RSS feed style dynamic update of production/shipping status

Maybe next week, meant NEXT week.

You have NO idea how much I'm looking forward to getting my Canon mount. Seriously... !

And thanks team RED for making so many amazing products... Just sayin'... :)

It's like the sign at the bar that reads, "Free Beer Tomorrow". You go back the next day and it still says "Free Beer Tomorrow".
