  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Everything you wanted to know about the EPIC Canon Mount

SIGMA 10-20/3.5 EX DC HSM AF (APS-C)
SIGMA 24-70/2.8 IF EX DG HSM AF
SIGMA 50-150/2.8 EX DC APO HSM II AF
SIGMA 50/1.4 EX DG HSM AF
SIGMA 85/1.4 EX DG HSM AF
SIGMA 20/1.8 EX DG ASP RF AF
SIGMA 24/1.8 EX DG ASP Macro AF
SIGMA 28/1.8 EX DG ASP Macro AF

Thanks for the list Jarred, might I assume that the Sigma APO 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG OS will work as well... some day?

The RED CANON MOUNT and REDMOTE PRO seem like a sweet combo. Still, I think I will be fine with the normal REDMOTE and really just need a dedicated FF-wheel. So I am wondering, are we waiting until the PRO-version ships in order to get a proper knob for the mount, or are there perhaps other and more simple solutions, by RED or by third parties (Element Technica, etc), in the works?

Ok, just guessing here but I predict Red is working on a Redmote Pro that attaches to 19mm rods and is really more of a fancy focus wheel. Of course it will also work on the back ofnthe brain and in numerous other configurations.

Nice to see what this lens will do with EPIC.

I've got this lens already..thanks for this Jarred....can't wait to use it with my Canon EPIC mount.

I'm holding off on the current redmote for this very reason. Between the LCD and side handle I should be fine controlling the camera.

Jarred, any chance of a Red One version of the Canon mount? Or does the One not have the electronics to accommodate?

Anyone gotten an email about these shipping yet?

If anyone in L.A. gets one next week, we have an M shoot on the 15th that we could really use it on.

thanks!

Dustin

I have been shooting the the Red Canon mount for about a week - it is brilliant. As the Epic is close to the 7D all by 5D lenses work great, the only exception at the moment is the doubler on my 70 to 200 - but RED knows about this...
I posted a lot about it and a lot of clips here

First few went out today.

:) cool. I know I ordered within about 5 minutes of it showing up on the store... And I'm thinking about 5000 other people did too. So... Hope you guys can get through the orders quickly.

Thanks for the manual!

Mike I'm pretty sure that your assumptions about the FL conversions in the middle of the blog are completely wrong. You may want to remove/correct them before getting bashed...
Just a friendly advice...

Well, you know how excited I am by this, great to hear they are shipping!

Question: is their anyway to do stereo focus and iris control besides redmote pro? Is it enabled yet.
