  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Interesting - does that mean that if I haven't received an Allocation, and I am one of the first people to order, and have a very low SO# and was at the Red Event that I should maybe expect to see it this year?

Even though I was a week late to the Scarlet ordering party, this has me very excited. Now time to stop procrastinating in these forums and get back to editing. Thanks Jarred!

I know you have your good reasons to not give a specific Date on when Ai Mounts will be in the Store, but du you have the possibility of just approximating it to first, second or third quarter of 2012 ? That would be a great help for planning, thanks!
 
The Canon mount is worth waiting for. It is phenomenal, and yet again I am playing with lenses at 1am in the morning when I should be sleeping. Its hard to put down. Being able to use IS lenses means handheld 200mm+ is possible for brief bursts.
This is such a game changer..... Every day with the Epic just gets better. Strangely, waiting for components allows one to digest each development in the time it deserves. Otherwise it would be overwhelming.

I'm not sure if I missed something but, is autofocus operational in the shipping firmware of the scarlet-x. I say this because I installed the canon mount and it was rediscovered and everything was fine but I couldn't get the camera to autofocus. how does it work?

Make sure your lens is set to Autofocus then a menu tab appears with various options. V2.05
 
I ordered our Canon mount on September 9, 2011. I received an email from our new Bomb Squad rep Dan Baum on December 20 saying it was ready to ship. We cleared the money today. It will be clear of the US in 5-7 days. This was the reason we invested in the RED Epic. I'll be glad when we can finally strap it on and start work-horsing this rig. FYI: Brian and Dan have been awesome. Everything that has been delivered has been quality. I just want to shut the #uck up now and go make some pictures. See you in the dark.

My comment is a bit out off topic but I just wanted to give a big up to the Bomb Squad Rep Team, since I'm a Red customer, they all do an excellent job and my new Rep in Europe is a killer too! He sent my Canon mount 2 hours after payment has been done.
Merry Christmas to all the people at Red!

Geert, great video!

I've read multiple reports of ZE lenses behaving crazy on Canon mount (aperture closing and opening rapidly once the lens is installed).

Do you have such problems with your ZEs? Or have RED already added support for these lenses to the latest firmware?
