Are the dimensions of Red's cheese plate any different from ET's top cheese plate? It looks like ET's has holes on the sides, as well as a slightly different hole layout on the top/bottom. I'm trying to decide whether I can substitute Red's cheeseplate with ET's instead.

Likewise, can Red's cheese plate be attached to ET's top rod mounts?

Yes, they are quite different in size.

No, it cannot attach to ET.

I wish ET made their top mounts for 19mm rods...

Hi Shawn,

One thing you can do, is attach ET's cheese plate to Red's top mounts. I'm guessing that's why you want ET 19mm top mounts. ET only made 15mm top mounts for those that want all 15mm rods.

Cheers,
Damien

PS Hope you can forgive me for that time I "highjacked" your thread, and hope you were able to sell your accessories.

The ET cheese plate and RED cheese plate serve two different purposes. ET's cheese plate is for mounting on the top of the camera between two top mounts (either ET's 15mm mounts) or RED's 19mm mounts. ET's cheese plate provides 3/8 and 1/4 mounting holes at approximately 18mm spacing, or the same spacing that's on the RED universal mount. It's handy for mounting all sorts of stuff to the camera or hanging the camera from a support system.

The RED cheese plate is designed to fit into the RED Bottom Plate in place of the shoulder dovetail. This is a solution for the bottom of the camera so it can mount firmly to camera support systems on the bottom. If you are using the RED Bottom Plate, you really need the RED cheese plate, IMO. If you are using an Arri bridge plate with your RED One, then you don't need the RED cheese plate.
