  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ergo...

Tim that is a DISASTER waiting to happen, and when it breaks it is gonna cost you alot of cheese.

It is really funny how i used to think the Zacuto stuff was so cool and incredible. Compared to the new RED PRO accessories, it now looks like Tinker Toys to me. Great Work Red.

Man, your Zacuto rods should NOT be bending that much. They shouldn't be bending at all. I have almost the exact same setup as you (LEX instead of the Ultimate), and my rig is as straight as a straight thing.

Lower your EX1, support the main weight of the Ultimate on a set of extension rods coming off the Universal Baseplate, and keep everything else where it is. Also, it looks like you're putting unnecessary flex on the Redrock mattebox - The 15mm version isn't designed to be able to sit on the rods... It's supposed to sit off the *end* of the rods.

Hope this helps,

M101.

Exactly. I bet what's happening is the Ultimate's support is set to low. That should be straight as a ruler.

That should actually be very solid when set up properly. Of course we are not going to compare cameras with adapters to a camera without one in terms of sturdiness, etc.

No worries mates, we SOLD most this stuff months ago to prepare for RED.
(mae $ on the Ulitimate and MB as they were back ordered)

I just posted this for comparison for those whining about balance of the Scarlett...

but yeah, the MB was mounted incorrectly and the Z-riser was jank and had to be replaced... again, was just trying to make a point.

Welp, that's what you get for making points! :sarcasm:

I recognize the zoom, it is the 80-200 f2.8 Nikon, the camera is probably ISO320 or something like that and I don't even recognize the adapter which means it might be a DIY losing at least 1 stop

but you can't blame the guy, I am pretty sure it made him money

I just wanted to add to the point, of how much things are changing

This may be the wrong section to post this, but out of curiosity, what is the size of the locking mechanism on the scarlet in comparison to the red one. I have an older MKI set of zeiss standards, and I have to remove one of the ears to get my follow focus to gear up.

Thanks

Zooms with the curvature of the planet. Perfect for interior car shots.

Still laughing that one. I think I'm going to choke. Help!

The shoulder pad may not be at the right place for balance!

In all fairness, Jeff said his does not bend at all.. I use some Zacuto gear on my RED, and, like everything else, if you use the right tool for the right job, then you are shiny

what does that setup weigh? 10 LBS?? very nice like the adjustability

Wow, that looks like a very decent (to be conservative) setup. It looks like it has everything you need but it VERY light. I can't wait to try this out.

Wow that looks like a nice setup.

I can't quite make out what that is on the top right side of the camera. Someone needs to take it into photoshop and figure out what the writing says. "RED" something...

EDIT: Ah, I think it says "RED Pro".

EDIT 2: OH! It's the new RED handle Jim posted recently. Phew, that had me confused.
