  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC-X UPDATE

we are incredibly optimistic that the train has finally been put back on the tracks and we will be able to begin shipping EPIC-X cameras at the end of August with full production in the first 2 weeks of September. (...) Our assembly lines and assembly staff in Southern California have been built up to full capability and once the parts hit our docks, we will be able to build a tremendous amount of cameras in a short period of time.
This is exactly what I've been patiently waiting to hear. Thank you.

Any idea on the availability of Canon or Nikon mounts?

Thanks!

I'm impressed with how quickly Japan is rebuilding and recovering from such devastation.

This is great news! Sounds like I will have an Epic-S for Christmas or Thanksgiving maybe? :)

Thank you Jarred for allowing us to take an Epic to Kona Hawaii next week!!

Good news for everybody, the end of the waiting is in the horizon.

In the mean time, to have something to process on, could somebody please post what inputs and outputs there are in the brain and what the Pro I/O-module adds to this, thanks.

Besides the different LCD sizes, is the Stage 3 package getting the same changes?

I think they decided to only make the 5 inch LCD as part of the pkg after realizing the smaller one wouldn't work well with fat fingers. Good news, that.

It's nice to know that while we sleep, Red is still looking out for our interests.

Do you guys at RED have a contingency plan in case the US default on it’s debts? The IMF (International Monetary Funds) said that there is a “tangible possibility” that it happen if US don’t raise the debt-limit in july, the IMF said that an economic collapse can happen in august 2 (http://www.imf.org/external/np/ms/2011/062011a.htm). So when I hear that my cameras will start shipping at the “end of august”, I get very concerned that my US$ 20k (of stage-2s) that are sitting at my RED Account will barely pay for Fedex. Will RED stick to the prices announced in an event like an economic depression with hyperinflation? Fortunately I am just a Dop from Brazil, what do I know about economics right?

Excellent news! You guys must be excited to have things rolling again.

I'll give a +1 to the inquiries regarding availability of the Canon mount? Love to see that available at release.

Thank you for the update and the excellent news about the titanium mount and Pro Module. Red = "Wait... BUT there's MORE now!!!"

Cheers Indeed,

Mike

Oh, and the SSD module is now standard. More yet!

Mike

Would you guys just STOP being the best camera company on the planet already?

All this generosity is pointless - I mean what do you hope to gain? fiercely loyal and happy customers?
