  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC-X UPDATE

Do you foresee any issues running an EPIC-M along with an EPIC-X on an ET ATOM or similar 3D rig?

The ssd module I'm really thankful for! Now a stupid question, maybe: people become very excited by the titanium pl mount; what are the apparently huge benefits over aluminium?

Thermal stability (expands and contracts less with heat), lightness, greater strength.

Edit: Too slow on the reply button!

WOW.
Thanks for the great news. It's really worth waiting.

Excellent news to hear.
Will the Redmote Pro be available to ship in place of the basic Redmote - paying the difference in price of course? Obviously better to have it at the start, than give you guys the logistical headache of exchanging later on?

It will be possible to buy a EF-Mount in September ? I´m suppose that the EF mount could be plug in the titanium mount....

Another question about the new customers, If the supply chains works like a charm It´s possible to launch Stage 4 in November ?

Thank you Red Team

Strength and Thermal expansion characteristics.. I.E if you go from very hot to very cold temperatures your back focus remains much more constant.

and the fact that it's pure and utter kickass. First Epic M shoot the other night, by far the best PL mount I've ever used. it's literally just perfect.

For people purchasing Epic X past stage 2 and 3, will the titanium mount still be an option?

Great great great news!

And I guess ill be the one who asks, even though it feels like it's frowned at.

You estimate the delivery of the X around late August, early September, and I know S's are supposed to be shipped immediately after all of X's are taken care of. But it feels kind of vague considering there are 3 or 4 stages of the Epic X's, so do you think you could possibly throw out a month? Or general area of the year that S's will start being in production and delivered?

Will the change from CF module to SSD module be reflected in the Scarlet products?

How does this additionally delayed date effect the previous tentative gaol of initiating Sacrlet production in Sept.?

Thank you for the sraightforward communication about your existential situation with the supply chain.

I would believe Jarred when he says that they can make a camera in a few minutes, but even if it took say 5 minutes to construct a camera, thats 12 cameras per hour, 96 cameras per day based on an 8 hour day, 2880 per month based on 30 days. Now if RED work for 16 hours a day, than thats 192 EPIC-X per day or 5760 per month!!!!!!

So given that Jim & Jarred work stranger hours and don't sleep :-) if the production line worked 24 hours for a month, then thats 8640 EPIC-X camera per month.

Before anyone jumps on me, I know that these are pretty weird numbers, but based on Jarred's comment about a few minutes to build a camera, it might not be too far from the truth!!!

Will stage 3 also get the Titanium mount?
(please :drool5:)

Lol. Nice math Steve.

Just trying to add some perspective on the numbers based on Jarred's comment - I would believe him. I guess the numbers are possible. They have more than enough space at RED HQ to build a fair number...

It would be amazing to see a short video of an EPIC-X getting assembles as a RED Video - Ted? You up for that? :-)

ABSOLUTELY AWSOME NEWS IN EVERY RESPECT!!!!
DETRACTORS - SHOW US ANOTHER COMPANY/TEAM THAT REGULARLY PULLS THESE SORT
OF STUNTS OUT OF THIN AIR..........YES - THOUGHT YOU MIGHT STRUGGLE WITH THAT ONE!!!!

best
joe
